MAJOR PHYSICAL FEATURES FOUND IN

EASTERN AFRICA

Valley to Beira in Mozambique.

HILLS
 Hills are higher grounds than the surrounding area , they are smaller than mountains.
 Many hills are found in different parts of Eastern Africa., There are hill even in areas
where there are plains, plateaus, Highland areas .
 Long chain of hills forms ranges . Examples of hills forming ranges in Kenya.:
Cherangani, Chyulu and Nyandarua Hills,
Kipengere hills in Tanzania and Debasien in Uganda
 Some areas have issolated hills :
Examples:
>>Shimba Hills >>Huri Hills >>Loita Hills >>Taita Hills, Sergoit hills . In Kenya
>>Labwor , Kigezi and Murungule Hills in Uganda.
>> Pugu hills and Mlala Hills In Tanzania.
ISLANDS
 An Island is apiece of land surrounded by water.
 There are several Islands found in Eastern Africa.

 Some of them are found in the major lakes in the region ,


while others are found in the oceans, and seas.
