Why do we need an effective Career
Planning?
Career planning encourages individuals to
explore and gather information, which
enables them to synthesize, gain
competencies, make decisions, set goals
and take action.
It is a crucial phase of human resource
development that helps the employees in
making strategy for work-life balance.
In the HRM science career is defined as
the sequence of the person’s work-related
experiences in one or several organizations
(Baruch, 2004; Greenhaus and Callanan, 2006).
Thus, according to the contemporary
sense, career comprises not just vertical
promotion to higher posts, but also any
change of posts, responsibilities and the
related learning seeking to acquire various
meaningful work experiences.
