Abstract
 The deadly coronavirus continues to spread across the globe, and the global
lockdown over Coronavirus has brought life to a virtual standstill.

 Due to which one of the biggest problems arise “lack of man power”. The provision
of safe water, sanitation and hygienic conditions is essential for preventing and for
protecting human health during all infectious disease outbreaks, including the
coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)

 One of the opportunities we identified, in homes, cafes and hotels to maintain

hygiene. Though lot of human activities are automated in the present competitive
world. There is a lag in automated dish washer.

 Keeping these things and problems in mind we have come up with a solution, a
special machine called “affordable Dishwasher Machine” due to which it is possible
to clean the objects effectively and without any man power at affordable cost.
Introduction
 In India mostly dish washing is done by manually, which gives strain to the
muscles and in current pandemic situation there is lack of man power.

 Therefore, purpose of this research is to reduce human efforts in dish washing. A

dishwasher is a mechanical gadget for cleaning eating-utensils, which made
cleaning and drying dishes much easier and more efficient.

 Investigations shows the problem faced in uses of automatic dish washer and
solution on the same. Large amount of electricity, time and expensive, because of
this reason the uses of dish washer machine in our country are very less.

 By developing this dishwashing machine we can overcome the above-mentioned

problems significantly.

 Here, we don’t have to work manually, we just have to put utensils in the machine,
it will be cleaned automatically.

Specifications

Body specification 60*60*80 cm

Water capacity 50 lit

Wash cycle time 30 to 60 min

Motor rating 220 v 5 hp

Material Stainless steel or copolymer

polypropylene
Components
 Inner Drum: The one which holds rack loaded
with dishes and contains water, stopping it from
leakage into the rest of machine.

 Rack: It is basically a frame which holds dishes in
particular position for effective washing process.

 Motor: This is combined with the agitator; it
produces a rotator motion. This is basically
mechanism that gets your machine going.

 Agitator: It is located inside the inner drum of
machine and rotates to spin soapy water around
utensils during washing allows water to remove
dirt from utensils.

 Drain pipes: All dirty water from inner drum after
washing is expelled from the machine via the
drain pipe.

Working
 The dishwashers are associated with the kitchen sinks for water supply. The
machine contains Inner drum where rack is place fixed, which is loaded with
plates, bowls etc.

 At the time of washing those utensils, the blend of water and cleanser is
flowed by a siphon to the inner drum. Inner drum holds the soapy water and it
is water tight to prevent water leakage.

 Agitator which is situated at bottom of inner drum spin the soapy water
around the utensils in the rack with the help of motor, which remove dirt or
stain from utensils while spinning.

 After the wash cycle completes and the water is depleted, then rinse the dish
with clean water.

 Drain and store this for next prewashing cycle. The dishes are left in the
environment for drying
Advantages
 Reduce time as well as human efforts significantly.

 More number of dishes can be washed in short time.

 Water usages is less than manual process.

Disadvantages

 The filler basket needs regular cleaning in order to avoid any rotten odour in
kitchen.

 Clogging in the drainpipe due to the leftover foods or other materials will
result in a slow drain of the dishwasher
Applications
 It is used in large-scale kitchens of hotels, restaurants, etc., where there is a
requirement for more dishes.

 It is also used in homes, mess, etc

Cost comparison
Competitor and price analysis
There are many companies producing dishwashers on the market. This chapter contains an
overview on major players in the industry. A short summary on the price range, of different
models is also given.

IFB Neptune VX Plus Free Standing 15 Place Settings Dishwasher
price ₹21,500

Siemens SN25HI00VI Free Standing 14 Place Settings Dishwasher
price ₹32,000

Godrej DWF EON VES 13Z SI STSL Free Standing 13 Place Settings Dishwasher
price ₹25,998

Our product
Price ₹12,800 (around)

In today condition
the maid wages – 800 Rs per month. (min)
Price of machine can be recovered in 16 months: 800*16 =12,800
Future Scope

 Dish washer has scope for research work in future for making it affordable
and light weighted. More research and design can be carried out on this
dishwashing machine with the aim of determining how water consumption of
the machine can be reduce.

 This will help to grow the market of dish washer.

 As it is a less expensive machine and affordable it will be really beneficial for

the future.

Conclusion
 After the above study we got a viable design for light weight dishwasher,
feasible design for cleaning mechanism and low-cost material. Different
studies were done for cleansing mechanism, and the materials used Etc.

 We use agitator-based mechanism over existing mechanism it helps in

effectively cleansing and takes comparatively less time. High density
polyethylene is material used for fabrication of machine for making it low cost
and light weight.

 Production processes were carried out by multiple testing on prototype model.

Knowing failure from very machine, it needs to be modified this machine in
the future.
