DEFINITION
Boxing
is a combat sport in which two people,
usually wearing protective gloves, throw
punches at each other for a predetermined
amount of time in a boxing ring.
2 TYPES OF BOXING
1. AMATEUR BOXING 
which only consists of 3 rounds.
Amateurs can continue to box while working outside
the sport.

2.PROFESSIONAL BOXING
 consists of up to 12 rounds, it is slow paced 
Professional boxers are paid by a sponsoring
organisation.
Boxing History
• The earliest evidence of
boxing dates back to Egypt
around 3000 BC. The sport
was introduced to the
ancient Olympic Games by
the Greeks in the late 7th
century BC, when soft
leather thongs were used
to bind boxers' hands and
forearms for protection.
