ABSTRACT

At present, there are many UASB (Up-flow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket)
plants that are in operation in India and some are in developing phase which
will made 3 to 4 year.

UASB technology potential was shows in developing countries for future

use on the base of evaluation of life cycle cost of UASB.

UASB’s plant used for waste water treatment and that it is most favorable
methods.

Sewage treatment plants have challenges to treat the excess sludge and
disposal of sludge and it was economically, environmentally supported.

By using the cost analysis and environmental impact assessment to reduce

the sludge and its practical approach to treat the water through UASB
process.
4
SCOPE
The 339 MLD (Millions Liters Per Day) STP (Sewage Treatment Plant)
located in Amberpet is the largest in the country and also one of the biggest
plant in Asia.

The STP with UASB (Up Flow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket) Technology in
terms of capacity (339 MLD) is tapped from combined chamber. The polluted
Musi is in for better days.

The city is now fully geared to tackle the 500 MLD of sewage entering the
river from 18 open streams on its either sides.

With the commissioning of the 339 MLD sewage treatment plant at

Amberpet, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board is
now in a position to meet the pollution challenge posed to the river.

Gas generated from this sewage treatment plant is collected through these
pipelines are stored for power generation.
5
OBJECTIVE
To install and operationalize an
integrated
sewerage treatment system in the city of
Hyderabad

To Develop an environmentally safe fluid

waste stream (or) treated effluent and A solid
waste (or) treated sludge suitable for disposal (or)
reuse usually as farm fertilize.

INTRODUCTION
The urban centers are discharging wastewater in
the water bodies and for irrigation in the agriculture
fields.
In the early stages of human history, wastewater
discharges did not pose problem to water bodies as the
nature had the capacity and the system to degrade
wastes and restore normal condition.
The major source of organic pollution in fresh water
bodies is sewage. In India, all the cities and towns do
not have sewage treatment facilities.
Service backlog in sewage management in India range
from 53% in 1-5 million cities to 100% in small 7
cities
having population of about 20,000.

DEFINATIONS
SEWAGE :
A suspension of Waste-Water ‘or’ Solid-
Waste that transported/passes through by
sewers.
In General, it is the waste-disposal of
matter which includes Organic & In-organic
Contaminants.
SEWERAGE :
A sewerage can be defined as it is
the water carriage system.
