Solutions
Problem 1 : Internal conflicts among factory managers in Production

Solution : The factory managers had conflicts amongst themselves due to the difference in their
qualifications and ego issues. Sunderlal was an efficient manager who managed production issues
within time. Sunderlal was the one who actually appointed them. Now in absence of him, the only
able person who can handle the situation is Manoharlal (removing Chatterjee) and so he should be
managing the factories.

Problem 2 : Defective products which are affecting sales

Solution : The sales executives started complaining about the poor quality and defective products and
hence difficulty to sell the industrial products started showing up. So to maintain the frequently
reported malfunctioning of products, Girdhari Lal should be appointed as a quality manager who will
directly report to Manohar Lal and discuss the requirement of new machinery..

Problem 3: Experienced sales executives leaving the company and joining the rival companies

Solution : Since we are already making major changes in the hierarchy to resolve issues faced, we
shall convince the remaining experienced sales executives by providing them temporary execution
plan and ask for some time from them. Also we will hire a few experienced sales executive to fill up
vacant slots.

Problem 4: Rise in operating costs

Solution: The main reasons behind the rise in operating cost was due to impulsive hiring of managers
without proper requirement analysis and re-incentivization of previous employees to retain them. This
issue can be tackled by removal of unnecessary positions like that of Chatterjee. Also, unnecessary
increase in incentives should be removed.
