Housing layouts refer to the visual configuration or pattern of how a group of houses appear on the actual ground. CLUSTER HOUSES 1 Compact or Cluster. Cluster dvpt differs from Planned Unit Dvpt (PUD) Due to the fact that a PUD contains a mixture of residential, commercial, industrial or other uses, whereas the cluster dvpt primarily focuses on residential area. Assessment of the Site for Housing • LOCATION….does it fit in the older developments or will it be in harmony with future developments? • Boundaries…are these clearly marked and not potential conflict prone/causers • Topography.. topography to ensure a good and resilient housing scheme development? • Existing tenure system, who owns the land and how should it be used?
