What is Education
The imparting and acquiring of
knowledge through teaching and
learning.
No check on teachers.
1. Infrastructure
Lack of basic facilities.
Problem of misappropriation of funds.
Need to formulate policies for proper
utilization of funds.
2. Accountability
Need to fix accountability of the
government about its policies.
Discuss the kind of schools, type of
education and level of education required.
Coordination between Teachers Union,
NGOs & civil society is required.
3. Girl Child
Gender disparity still prevalent.
There are only 30-35 % of girls in school
compared to boys.
Parents need to understand the equal
importance of girl child.
Girl empowerment is possible only through
education.
4. Child Labor
Increase no of child labor, a matter of
immediate concern.
Proper guidance of the parents is needed.
Proper funding of poor child so that they
do not have to work.
Provision of vocational training.
5. Quality Education
Touchstones of quality education
An education that is equitable.
An education that helps children
develop into independent thinkers,
creators and actors.
An education that embodies them with
the spirit of social sensitivity and action.
6. Role of Teachers
Qualified teachers required to impart quality
education.
Ideal teacher student ratio of 1:40
going towards 60 70 & even 160 students
per teachers.
A studious atmosphere is impossible in this
situation.
Negligence of teachers in government
schools to be checked regularly.
7. School Environment
High dropout rate due to lack of childs
interest in school.
We need a change in the way education is
imparted.
Education need to be made more
interesting.
Tools of literacy
National Literacy Mission :
aims to attain full literacy in 15 35 age group.
Sarva Siksha Abhiyan:
aims to provide education to every child between 6-14
years.
National Programme of Nutritional support
to primary education :
aims to inspire retention at the primary school
level by providing mid day meals.
District Primary Education Programme:
aims to reduce the dropout rate and to erduce
disparity based on gender or society.
Conclusion
There is need to create awareness among
people.
Farmers need to be taught the importance of
education.
The government should strictly adhere to its
policies and keep a check at various levels.
Proper channeling of the resources is
necessary.
Finally the need to provide quality education
is essential in bringing India to the list of
Developed Nations.
