Outline/ brief overview:

The
opening sequence starts off with Kodi and his friend Leila in
the forest starting off their vlog; they are walking deep into the
forest while Kodi is trying to tell his viewers about the history
about the abandoned campsite while Layla records him. At one
point Kodis focus isnt on Leila or the camera, hes looking at
something else with a startled expression which her to turn around
only to find nothing there. In the far distance they can hear creepy
noises which start to scare them especially Kodi who insists on
leaving the area. Leila tries to capture footage of whatever is
making noise but when she turns back around to talk to Kodi she
finds him running in the distance so she chases after him, she
manages to catch footage of Kodi being grabbed. Leila tries to
send out a help message, but she gets grabbed by a hand which
causes her to drop the camera, all the audience can hear are her
screams until the camera cuts off. The last scene will be typed and
it would mention how Kodi and Leilas bodies were never found but
the camera footage was found with blood on it so further
investigations will be carried out.(All taken in one take)
Target Audience:
We
chose the age group 15-30 because

young adults tend to look for a thrill and a
sense of excitement which makes horror
the perfect genre for them. Teenagers
tend to see horror movies in groups too
because it is a social event where they
can enjoy the company of their
friends.We chose to make the film unisex
because over the years the percentage of
males and females watching horror
movies are almost equivalent.
Possible Scheduling/ Publishing Suggestions:
To
make sure that the right

audience get to know about
the film, a brief trailer would
be played in a cinema which
is about to show a horror film
so that it can appeal to the
right people.
Comparable
Products:
As
we planned what we want to

happen in this project we researched
what horror films entail including
codes and conventions, the most
common audiences and the most
frequently used camera angles. I
looked at an example of how credits
are presented at the beginning short
film called Catch Me if You Can so
that we can use some ideas for our
opening sequence.
Rationale:
As
a group we decided
tocentreour film around
supernaturalelements such
as ghosts/ spirits because the
codes and conventions of
horror can be easily
presented.
Representation in the text/

Generic Codes and Conventions:
In
our project our main protagonist is a female,

which contradicts the stereotype of women being
fragile, emotional and weak. Her closest friend is a
male but rather than him being dominant and
confident he appears to be more sacred and weak.
Instead of our antagonist being a male we have
challenged the stereotype of male villains and
decided to make our antagonist which isnt very
common in most horror films which could interest
the audience and make them intrigued by the turn
out of events. Our opening sequence is set in a
forest which is a common location for most horror
films because it's isolated and there is no one
around to help our characters.
Success/ Intended Effect:

In
order to see whether our

opening sequence will be
satisfactory and successful, we
will conduct a questionnaire
aimed towards our target
audience they record our
findings on a graph.

Messages:
The message in our film is to never go
to an isolated place by yourself in the
dark because anything could happen.
Hidden
Message:
There is no hidden message in our
production.
Resource constraints:
During
our filming we need to make

sure we keep to time and use it as
effectively as we can so we can make
the most of the time we have there,
and make sure we have enough time
to make corrections to any mistakes
made during the filming. When it
comes to our actors we will need to
make sure that our filing schedule fits
in with their free time so we can film
without any disruptions.
