Polite Person The following children have been awarded in assembly, for Polite Person of the week in their class. Maple Ash Poplar Acer Elm Rowan Matthew Batty Amber Parry Lucas Jew Orla Clark Anastasia Salajeva Yoann Bentley Chestnut Beech Oak Sycamore Holly Willow Well done to all these children! NEW CHANGES!!! We have been looking at how we can simplify the way in which payments to school, are made. A letter will be sent home next week, giving you all the details as to how the new system will work and what types of payments can be made under this scheme. This will mean that payments for such things as school lunches, uniform, school trips, breakfast/afterschool Treehouse Clubs etc can be made via the internet. EACH child will have their own unique payments number. There will not be one number per family so that payments can be easily allocated to the particular child. Please be sure to look out for the letter in your childs school bag next week. If, for whatever reason, you do not receive a copy, please see your childs class teacher. These are INDIVIDUAL letters and further copies will not be available due to the unique number allocated. Diamond Jubilee Celebrations On the afternoon of Thursday 31st May, we will be holding a Tea Party on the school field to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee. We are asking for a donation of 50p, per child, to go towards the cost of the food. We would ask that this be sent into school, in the usual way, in a sealed envelope. Please kindly post this through the letter box in the main reception area. We will be serving:Cucumber sandwiches/Jam sandwiches Sausage Rolls Jam Tarts and Battenburg Cake Jacob Somers Katlin Tomkinson Libby Brown Daniel Hughes Maisy Playsted Zak Douglas

IF YOUR CHILD HAS ANY ALLERGIES, WOULD YOU PLEASE LET THE OFFICE KNOW, IN WRITING.
Thank you.

WALK TO SCHOOL WEEK This week is Walk to School Week. This is part of the national charity Living Streets Great British Walking Challenge which is taking place throughout May. Join thousands of people who will be walking to school, work or around their neighbourhoods. Be a part of it at www.livingstreets.org.uk For more information on the Walk to School Week and the Walk to School campaign, please visit the Walk to School website: www.walktoschool.org.uk

PYJAMA DAY! Wear your pyjamas to school for just a 1.00! (voluntary contribution). On FRIDAY 25TH MAY, the School Council have proposed a pyjama Day. They would like to raise money for a school community fund. They would then be able to use this money to support local school projects, local and global charities as chosen by the children themselves. So, simply roll out of bed and come to school! Bed hair welcome!!

50 things to do before you are 11 !!

This year, the National Trust are encouraging children to get outdoors and get closer to nature and the basic pleasures of outdoor life, by challenging you to complete 50 things before you reach the ripe old age of 11 !!!!! This can be from climbing trees, to building dens etc!! There are some fabulous ideas. For more information, please take a few moments to visit www.50things.org.uk The list of 50 things should not cost anything to achieve and would be a chance to get the whole family together and, maybe, bring back some fond memories of your parents childhood too!!
SCHOOL REMINDERS

There are various ways in which you can get in touch with school to report absences, appointments etc. You can either call school on 236397, e mail the office at [email protected] or use the school text service on 01743 562016. There is only ONE line into school and that is the number listed above. However you may, from time to time, see a missed call from 240866. This is an outgoing number for our purposes and our fax number. However, it is NOT primarily, an incoming number and will revert to the fax tone. We check the registers, after registration closes, in the morning. If we have not received a reason for absence after these checks have taken place, we will need to contact you to ascertain the reason. Our answerphone is put on when the office closes so messages can be left as early as you like, in the morning and we will pick them up at the start of the day. NB. We have had some cases recently, where the numbers on our system, are either unobtainable or may have changed. We know that many people change mobile phone numbers with changes in contract but we would be most grateful if you would check to ensure that we have your most recent telephone numbers. If you are in any doubt, please do call at the office to check. Thank you.
