1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Description Accomodations is the relation between crews and rooms in ship. In designing accomodations with need to care about the crews position based on their grade. Which one should be in the upper deck and which one should stay in main deck. In this document, we will analysis that relation, but in the first we need to determined the amount of our crew based on KM.70. And then, we can find the relation between among of them. For the last, is designing room in each deck such as main deck, poop deck, boat deck, and navigation deck. 1.2 Objective The purposes of this document are : a. to determine the number of crews b. to determine the accommodations room for each crews c. to design the room layout for each decks

4 DESIGN REQUIREMENTS
4.1 The Number of Crews According to KM. 70 years 1998, for Ship that has GT more than 10.000 the minimal requirements of the amount of grades, marine certificate and the minimal number of crews on the ship for all route is 12 persons such as : - 1 person as Captain - 1 person as Chief Officer - 2 persons as Second Officer and Third Officer - 1 person as Radio Operator - 3 persons as Chief Engineer, Mechanic and Electrician - 2 persons as Quarter Master I and Quarter Master II - 1 person as Cooker - 1 person as Boy 4.2 Accommodations Room Division a. Based on the Crew's Grade, higher position has the higher deck and for the lowest grade stay in the main deck. For the exception, Radio Operator must be close to Radio Control Room so the room need to be as close as possible, for this design Radio Operator Room is located in the same deck with Captain Room in the Boot Deck. b. Sleeping Room The requirements based on : 1. The sleeping room must be above on the fully cargo load

2. The minimum area of the floor based on Convention Concerning Crew Accomodation on Board Ship (ILO no. 133 1970) such as : 2.1 For ships which has 1000-3000 ton : 2,75 m2 (single cabin) and 3,75 m2 (double cabin) 2.2 For ships which has 3000-10000 ton : 3,25 m2 (single cabin) and 4,25 m2 (double cabin) 2.3 For ships which has more than 10000 ton : 3,75 m2 (single cabin) and 4,75 m2 (double cabin) 3. Special for captain, chief officer, chief engineer and radio operator, must be only for 1 person and there is bathroom and toilet. 4. For another officer, 1 room for 1 person or if it doesn't possible, maximum for two persons. 5. For boys, 1 room can used for 2 person. c. Mess Room The requirements need to be considered are : 1. Every ships are equipped with mess room which planned for all ship's crew, even tough for mess room officer must be separated with another mess room. 2. Mess room must be equipped with tables, chairs, and another equipment which can make support the ships crew on a ship. 3. Placement of mess room, as possible as close with galley and pantry or it will be better if it was on 1 line vertical. d. Sanitary Accomodation The requirements need to be considered are : 1. Every ships must be equipped with sanitary accomodation include wash basin, shower, and toilet. 2. General sanitary facility : one tube and shower maximum for 8 persons. One wash basin maximum for 6 persons and every WC maximum for 6 persons. e. Store The requirements need to be considered are : 1. Dry provision store has a function to store dry foods and should be placed close by galley or pantry. 2. Cold provision store has a function to store vegetable and fruit must be accommodate all of capacity along the trip for all ships crew needs. 3. Vegetable room are chilled on temperature between 4 - 10 degrees f. Chart Room The requirements need to be considered are : 1. The place behind of wheel house 2. Between wheel house and chart room must be connected with sliding door. g. Galley The requirements need to be considered are :

1. It is placed close by mess room. 2. Galley must be equipped with exhaust fan. h. Wheel House The requirements need to be considered are : 1. Wheel house must be placed on top deck and can reach the view who has been wanted. The distance to the forward, not less than 1,25 Lpp. 2. Flying bridge was made on side wheel house so the view to the back, front and side must be free. 3. The doors usually used are sliding doors. i. Room for each decks I.
