    32 NEWS PRESENTER 1: After the Palestinian militants dominated Israel in
    33 the Hamas attacks just this October 7, 2024 and killed
    34 over 1,200 people, according to Israel, and apprehended
    35 over 240 civilians, bringing them back to the Gaza Strip.
    36 Israel reacted with a military campaign that it said was
    37 aimed at destroying Hamas and bringing back the
    38 hostages. Hamas liberated hundreds of hostages under a
    39 weeklong series of temporary cease-fire agreements that
    40 ended on December 1. International efforts to reach a
    41 cease-fire and hostage-release deal have continued on.

    49 (ICJMD), including Jess, are participating in training
    50 programs offered by the state-run Mindanao State
    51 University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), which
    52 include courses like English literacy and culinary arts.
    53 These programs aim to equip inmates with practical skills
    54 and opportunities for personal growth, with the goal of
    55 preparing them for a future beyond prison walls. This is

    66 comes from chemicals which ruins the ozone layer!

    68 NICOLE: It's very bad and that's why we should be more eco-
    69 friendly to stop air pollution.
    70 ALIZEEH: But how can we do that mom?
    71 NICOLE: By keeping cars in good conditions so less black smoke
    72 comes out, stop burning garbage, and using less energy
    73 for factories. There are a lot more on what we can do, for
    74 example planting more trees!
