Hello everyone, My name is Nguyet Anh, and I’m from class 10C2 at Hung
Vuong High school. I have always had a deep interest in geography and
environmental studies, which is why I’m particularly excited about this
competition.

The Đắk Nông Geopark is an amazing example of how nature and culture
intersect, with its volcanic formations and rich history of the ethnic
communities in the area. Through this event, I hope to highlight the
importance of protecting natural heritage sites like this one, not just for their
scientific value, but also for future generations to learn from and appreciate.

Hello everyone, My name is Duyen Hai, and I’m a student from class 10C2 at
Hung Vuong High school .I’ve always been fascinated by UNESCO World
Heritage sites and the global importance of preserving our natural and
cultural landmarks.

Đắk Nông Geopark is a perfect example of how a site can tell the story of
both the Earth’s natural history and the human communities that have lived
in harmony with it for centuries. I believe it’s essential to raise awareness
about such places, and that’s why I’m participating in this competition—to
share my passion for conservation and cultural heritage.

Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark is a famous tourist destination in

Vietnam. It is located in Dak Nong Province and was recognized as a World
Heritage site by UNESCO in 2015. The park includes diverse ecosystems,
cave systems, rare geological relics, and is home to many rare species of
plants and animals. Dak Nong Geopark attracts visitors with its pristine and
captivating landscapes, along with its rich biodiversity. It contributes to the
growth of Dak Nong’s tourism economy, providing additional income and
creating jobs for local residents. Visitors have the opportunity to explore
cave systems, lakes, waterfalls, and unique geological.

Gia Long Waterfall is one of the most famous and majestic waterfalls in Dak
Nong Province, located within the Dak Nong Geopark area. The waterfall lies
on the Serepok River, in Krong No District, Dak Nong Province. This location
places the waterfall in the Central Highlands region, not far from Dray Sap
Waterfall and near the border between Dak Lak and Dak Nong Provinces. The
area is renowned for the majestic scenery of the Serepok River and the
diverse ecosystems of the Central Highlands' mountains and forests.
Together with Dray Sap and Trinh Nu Waterfalls, it forms a series of major
waterfalls in the Central Highlands.

Notable features of Gia Long Waterfall:

 Historical significance of the name: Gia Long Waterfall is named

after Emperor Gia Long, the first emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty.
According to local legend, Emperor Gia Long once visited this area, and
the waterfall was named in his honor to commemorate the event.
 Natural scenery:
Gia Long Waterfall is quite high and wide, creating a wild and majestic
scene. Water cascades down basalt cliffs, forming layers of white foam.
Beside the waterfall are primeval forests with rich biodiversity,
surrounded by ancient trees and rare plants.

 Fairy Bath:
The waterfall is also famous for its natural pool known as the "Fairy
Bath," a crystal-clear, cool water pool formed right at the base of the
falls. This is an attractive spot for visitors looking to swim amidst the
wild beauty of nature.

 Diverse ecosystems:
The area around the waterfall boasts a diverse ecosystem with many
species of wildlife and rare birds. Visitors can combine waterfall
exploration with the chance to discover the rich ecosystems of the
Central Highlands’ forests and mountains.

 Untouched and peaceful landscape:

Compared to Dray Sap Waterfall and other waterfalls, Gia Long
Waterfall is less developed for tourism, preserving its pristine and
peaceful beauty. It is an ideal destination for travelers who love natural
beauty that remains largely untouched by human activity.

In addition to its majestic natural beauty, the waterfall holds significant values in terms of nature,
history, culture, and tourism development, such as:

Cultural heritage of ethnic groups: The area around Gia Long Waterfall is home to several
ethnic minorities, such as the M’Nông, Ê-đê, and Mạ. These groups have rich cultures with
distinctive customs, traditions, and practices, contributing to the region's diverse cultural value.

Ecotourism potential: With its unspoiled natural beauty, Gia Long Waterfall is an attractive
destination for ecotourism. Visitors can combine a trip to Dray Sap Waterfall, explore the nature
and mountains of the Central Highlands, and learn about the local indigenous culture.

Nature and ecosystem conservation: The Gia Long Waterfall area has not been heavily
impacted by mass tourism development, so it still retains its pristine beauty. This makes it an
important area for conserving forest ecosystems, protecting wildlife, and maintaining natural
balance.

Environmental education: Gia Long Waterfall also holds potential as a place for educating
about environmental protection and the importance of preserving natural heritage within the
context of sustainable development.

Overall, Gia Long Waterfall is not only valuable for its natural landscape but also carries
multiple layers of historical, cultural, and ecological significance. It is a potential destination for
ecotourism and nature conservation, contributing to the sustainable economic development of the
Đắk Nông region.

The sound of waterfalls, combined with the chirping of birds in the vast, lush green space of the
primeval forests, makes you feel as if you are in a magical fairyland. The emerald-green natural
