WHY FSSAI ?
• FSSAI which stand for Food Safety And Standards Authority
Of India.
• Every food business operators need the registered food
license or food certificate from the Food safety department.
• FSSAI – There are two things are there
• 1. FOOD CERTIFICATE (Basic)
• 2. FOOD LICENCE – (State and Central)
FSSAI BASIC REGISTRATION
• In this Power point, We are dealing with the complete

registration procedure for the basic food certificate.
ELIGIBLITY CRITERIA FOR BASIC
• For the FSSAI basic Registration, the food business operators
should have an annual turnover of about more than 12 lakhs. The
applicant should fill out the Form A application for the basic
FSSAI Registration.
• Mostly the business activity should be petty shop, stalls and other
small shops.
• One the criteria must be satisfied, the applicant shall be eligible
for the Basic FSSAI certificate.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE
• The Basic FSSAI shall be applied in the Form-A
• For some food business activities like Manufacturer or Hotel,
restaurant business, even though the eligibility criteria are
satisfied, Some of the queries may be raised by Food department
to apply the same for FSSAI License under Form – B
• Note : State licence shall be issued after the Food department
inspections and verification
• It shows that the strict rules were applied for every license or
Basic certificate.
WHO CAN APPLY FOR FSSAI
• Manufacturer
• Trade/Retailer
• Food Services
• Central Govt. Agencies
• Head Offices
(Mostly the Central Govt. Agencies and Head offices shall not
be eligible for Basic FSSAI)
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED :
• Name of the Individual or Company
• PAN and Aadhar card of the individual
• Photo copy of the individual (Passport size)
• Address of the Food business which located with Ward
number
• Any one of the supporting document for the proof of the
premises like (Sale/rental deed, EB Bill, GST, property tax)

Once you open the link, it redirect to the main Page of the FSSAI portal….
In that page, You will Find that “APPLY FOR NEW LICENCE/
REGISTATION” CLICK THE SAME
Once you choose the place and premises of the
operation,(Tatkal, General, Railway station, Airport)
(Note : Mostly the client seeks the certificate for

“General” )
Next page,
You will redirect to Select the state, where you are

going to apply or the FSSAI basic certificate
NOTE : The category of the selection will be more confusable
• So ask the client, that what business activity that they are involved.
(whether Manufacturer, Trader or the food services) or both.
• Every category will have some sub categories, which is attached in the
further slides.
• Based on the clients requirements the suitable categories may select.
• The client may be eligible for two or three categories in the same
application and select all suitable activity (eg : Manufacturer and
Trader)

Now, you will find the Application for Registration (Form – A)
Select the suitable category for the “Retailer”
• In the application, You need to enter the applicant details with the nature of
the company and the PAN and Aadhar information.
• After the continuous, you need to enter the correct address of the food
premises which located (Note : the ward number must be confusable check
and enter correctly, some may raise query for the same to change correct
ward number)
• Enter the correspondence address (if both same click yes)
• Correspondence address means the address used for postal and other
communications.
• And next enter the number of years for the validity of the certificate.
• And here you must specify the category of foods which involved in your
business activity (Slide NO. 27).
• Also enter the other details and proceed to next.
After that a sign in page open, You will find the sign up
details , which contains the reference number or user
id for further login or follow up the same. (Note the
sign up number)
And validate with OTP

Once the OTP validated you will receive mail and login message
after that page you need to upload the supporting documents and

And any Identity card of the individual which is issued by the government.
After you can add/upload your supporting documents such as rental

agreement/ EB bill/ MSME / GST Certificate/ any other governmental
issued bills which is not exceed 60 days.
Once you completed or uploaded all the thing, tick the declaration and
proceed for payment.
For Basic FSSAI certificate the Government fee is 1OO (Hundred rupees
only)
Once you applied for the basic, further you need to follow the same by
