Internet of Things (IoT):
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a system where everyday devices like phones, cars,
lights, and home appliances connect to the internet and share data. These devices
use sensors and software to communicate with each other, making life easier and
more efficient. For example, in homes, smart devices like Alexa or smart lights can
be controlled using your voice or phone. In healthcare, fitness trackers monitor
your steps and health data. On farms, systems can automatically water plants based
on weather conditions. IoT helps make our lives smarter, faster, and more
connected.

IoT In Agriculture:
Internet of Things (IoT) in agriculture is the use of smart devices and software to
improve the efficiency and profitability of farming operations. IoT in agriculture
connects physical components, like plants, animals, and tools, to the internet to
enable communication and information exchange. This allows farmers to monitor
and manage their farms in real time. Some examples of IoT in agriculture is
temperature monitoring, livestock tracking, etc.

One such example is REMOTE SENSING IN AGRICULTURE.

REMOTE SENSING IN AGRICULTURE

Remote sensing in agriculture uses satellite or drone technology to collect data on
crops, soil, and environmental factors. Sensors capture information like crop
health, soil moisture, temperature, and pest activity without physical contact. This
data helps farmers make informed decisions about irrigation, fertilization, and pest
control, improving yields and reducing waste. For example, multispectral imagery
can identify stressed crop areas for targeted interventions. Remote sensing
enhances precision farming, helping optimize operations and increase
sustainability.
Advantages of Remote Sensing in Agriculture:

1. Improved Crop Monitoring

2. Enhanced Precision Farming
3. Increased Yields
4. Cost Savings
5. Environmental Sustainability
6. Predictive Analysis
7. Wide Area Coverage

CONCLUSION
IoT in agriculture enhances efficiency, sustainability, and productivity by using
connected devices to monitor crops, soil, and weather in real time. It helps farmers
optimize resources, reduce costs, and improve yields while minimizing
environmental impact. As technology evolves, IoT will play a key role in shaping
smarter, more sustainable farming practices.
