TECHNIQUE:
Multiplanar and multi sequential images through the brain were acquired
with and without IV contrast.
COMPARISON:
No prior relevant imaging is available for comparison.
FINDINGS:
Symmetric areas of T2/FLAIR hyperintense abnormality in peritrigonal white
matter bilaterally. No evidence of associated white matter volume loss or cyst
formation. Ventricular lining is also smooth in appearance. No abnormal post
contrast enhancement is seen.
The rest of the brain shows normal gray and white matter differentiation.
No established chronic infarct or intracranial hematoma is detected.
There is no hydrocephalus, mass effect or shift of midline structures.
Sella and suprasellar structures appear normal.
Normal structures of posterior cranial fossa.
The major vessels normal flow voids and basal cisterns are preserved.
Mucosal thickening in bilateral maxillary sinuses and ethmoidal air cells. The
rest of the visualized paranasal sinuses and mastoid air cells are clear.
CONCLUSION:
● Symmetric areas of T2/FLAIR hyperintense abnormality in peritrigonal
white matter bilaterally. No evidence of associated white matter
volume loss or cyst formation. These findings are suggestive of
terminal zones of myelination. However, interval followup evaluation
after 6 months is recommended to rule out delayed myelination.
● No abnormal post contrast enhancement.
● No mass lesions.
