37. A student is conducting an experiment in the school laboratory to project the image of a candle flame onto
a wall using a mirror. The goal of the experiment is to understand the properties of reflection and image
formation. The student places the candle flame at a certain distance from the mirror, intending to obtain
a sharp, focused image of the flame on the opposite wall. The student is provided with several types of
mirrors, including a plane mirror, a concave mirror, and a convex mirror.
(i) Which type of mirror should he use and why?
(ii) At what distance, in terms of focal length of the mirror, should he place the candle flame to get the
magnified image on the wall?
