Guidelines for Crafting a PowerPoint Presentation

INSTRUCTIONS: Create a PowerPoint Presentation about any topic of your choice in


Purposive Communication. Then, follow the guidelines below:

1. Structure Your Presentation


• Title Slide- Include the presentation title, your name, date, and any relevant affiliations or
logos.
• Agenda Slide- Briefly outline the topics or sections covered.
• Content Slides- Divide the information logically into sections or points. Use one main
idea per slide to maintain clarity.
• Conclusion Slide- Summarize the key takeaways.
• Q&A Slide- Prepare for audience interaction or feedback.

2. Design Principles
Slide Layout
• Use consistent templates for a professional look.
• Ensure adequate spacing between text and images.
Color Scheme
• Use a cohesive color palette.
• Ensure contrast between text and background for readability.
Fonts
• Use readable fonts like Arial, Calibri, or Verdana.
• Keep font sizes consistent: Titles (28–36 pts), Body Text (18–24 pts).
Visual Hierarchy
• Emphasize important points using bold, size, or color changes.

3. Content Guidelines
Text
• Keep it concise—use bullet points or short sentences.
• Avoid overloading slides; use 6x6 rule (max six words per line, six lines per slide).
Visuals
• Incorporate charts, graphs, images, and icons to enhance understanding.
