Question 23. In figure, if AD = 6 cm, DB = 9 cm, AE = 8 cm and EC = 12 cm and ∠ADE = 48°. Find
∠ABC

Question 24. A teacher told his student to write a quadratic polynomial whose sum and product of
the zeroes are – 6 and 8, then the students write the polynomial x2 + 6x + 8. Is it right? Justify your
answer.
Question 25.The sum of the squares of two consecutive multiples of 7 is 637. Find the two multiples

Question 26. Find the largest positive integer that will divide 444, 486 and 604 leaving remainders
7, 11 and 15, respectively.
Question 27. If a + b = c + d where a, b, c, d are rational numbers, then prove that either a = c and
b = d or b and d are squares of rational numbers.
Question 28. Prove the Basic Proportionality Theorem.
Question 29. In an equilateral triangle, prove that three times the square of one side is equal to four
times the square of one of its altitudes.
Question 30. For what value of n, the nth term of two APs: 63, 65, 61,… and 3, 10, 17,… are equal?
Question 31. Find the sum of the first 50 positive integers divisible by 7.
Section-D (Consists of 4 questions of 5 marks each.)
Question 32. A ladder has rungs 25 cm apart. The rungs decrease uniformly in length from 45 cm
at the bottom to 25 at the top. If the top and the bottom rungs are 2.5 m apart, what is the length of
the wood required for the rungs?
Question 33. Sides AB and AC and median AD of a triangle ABC are respectively proportional to
sides PQ and PR and median PM of another triangle PQR. Show that ∆ABC ~ ∆PQR.
Question 34. The area of a rectangle gets reduced by 9 square units, if its length is reduced by units
and breadth is increased by 3 units. If we increase the length by 3 units and the breadth by 2 units,
the area increases by 67 square units. Find the dimensions of the rectangle.
Question 35. Two water taps together can fill a tank in 9.3/8 hours. The tap of larger diameter
takes 10 hours less than the smaller one to fill the tank separately. Find the time in which each tap
can separately fill the tank.

Question 36. Write all the similarity criteria of two triangles with examples and details of each.
