FACULTY DIRECTORS
This program is taught by a team of tenured, cross-disciplinary faculty who are experts in their fields. In
collaboration with lecturers and guest speakers, they bring cutting-edge research, thought leadership,
and experiential learning to the program experience.
Paul Oyer, the Mary and Rankine Van Anda Entrepreneurial Professor and Professor of
Economics, focuses his research on the economics of organizations and human resource
practices. He is also a Research Associate with the National Bureau of Economics and the
Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Labor Economics. His recent research includes how firms
identify and recruit workers in high-skill and competitive labor markets, with a focus on the
markets for newly minted lawyers and MBAs.
Mykel J. Kochenderfer is Assistant Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics and
Assistant Professor, by courtesy, of Computer Science at Stanford University. He is the
director of the Stanford Intelligent Systems Laboratory (SISL), conducting research on
advanced algorithms and analytical methods for the design of robust decision making
systems. Of particular interest are systems for air traffic control, unmanned aircraft, and
automated driving where decisions must be made in uncertain, dynamic environments
while maintaining safety and efficiency.
