This report will provide a reflection of my academic and employability skills which help me to
enhance my professional growth and development. This skill are essential for better work
performance and achievement of goals. Academic skill refers to that skills which are necessary
for workers for their workplace. Academic skills are required for organize and manage works of
an individual. We know that all human beings are reflects. Reflection allow a person to evaluate
his own experience, gains lessons from the mistakes, use that knowledge to improve himself. It is
the summarization of student’s analytical reflection on a specific subject or situation. Reflective
report are used as a part of the practical projects. Reflection provide a student with an
opportunity to think about how the personal experience and observation shape his knowledge
and learning of new ideas and skills. The report contains a reflection of my learning and
development from the module with the help of the Gibbs Reflective Model which reflect my
work, knowledge, and experience from the module.
Reflection on the Learning and Development
Reflective learning make capable an individual to examining the ways the individuals learn. It
states that without thinking deeply about what we learn, we can never identify out bad habits to
turn them into an affirmative one (León, 2022). This cycling process not only help the students to
improve their learning outcomes but also help them to perish self-regulated learning, continuous
process that includes plans to complete an academic task , critically evaluate the outcome and
use that knowledge to guide future tasks. All of the learning accumulated from the module going
to reflect by using Gibbs reflection Cycle (Dhaliwal, et. all, 2018). There are six stages in Gibbs
reflective Cycle which is established by Professor Graham Gibbs in 1988. The six stages are
description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion, and action plan (Ajibola et. all, 2022).
Now I am going to demonstrate the each of the six steps of Gibbs`s Reflection Model which help
me improve my academic skills and employability skills:
During this module I learned that there is difference between the writing of academic and formal.
I never know that whenever using an author line I have to appropriate cited his after the sentence.
If I don’t do so it will be considered as a plagiarism (Maltoni and Lomonaco, 2019). I also
learned how to improve my academic writing, how to given an appropriate structure to the
report, how to make references, how to paraphrase and how to write a reflective report. This
module also help me to learn how to make a CV with a good proper letter. These skill are very
much essential for me because they can help me to apply for a good job in a professional way. I
also developed many thoughts by enrolling this course and all of them are essential for me in my
academic and professional life.
So overall this module help me to learn the necessity of having academic and employability
skills
Feelings
In this step an individual considers what was feeling about the experience (Ahmed, 2020). Its
explain how the individual was felling during and after the experience.
At the first day of my class my feelings was nervous as well as curious. I was very much eager to
learn about the topic that will taught about academic and employability skills (Budhiraja, 2021).
I enjoyed that there will be discussion on the topic every week. I think that whatever I learned
from the module that will be very much helpful for me in future to get a better job.
Then our module mentor given a task to us to write a reflective report. Reflective report was a
new things to me so naturally I was little bit nervous and confused. I thought that this will be a
difficult task for me because I don’t know how to write a reflective report. I was feeling less
confident because lack of my knowledge and also i am also little bit weak in English. My
thought are changed on the next week because our mentor took a session on how to write a
reflective report. How to given a proper structure to it. After the session I realized that the task is
not very much difficult. So overall this report is a challenge as well as a prospect for me. So
following this way I am able to evaluate what are my academic and employability skills and
what are the gaps I have. Now I am feeling very much confident and determine to complete my
task.
Evaluation
Evaluation shows an objectify on both positive and negative aspect of the experience (Carlson,
2020). Here describe the key elements, what did go well, and what did not go well.
From the module I experience a lot of good experiences. There some positive sides of the
experience. My teachers and the fellow classmates are very much supportive to me. The
information provides for the material are very informative. I also learn how to work on team and
how to prepare a presentation. The overall the module and its learnings are delightful to me.
As along with the positive experience I gathered also some bad experiences too. The bad side of
the experience is the skill such as problem solving and decision making skill is not improved to
enough level. But i think that regularly reflect of my achievement I can improve those skills.
Analysis
In this step an individual attempt to explain why the experience was positive or negative ( Li and
Peng, 2018).
From the module I achieved various skill such as time management, organization,
communication and team work, reading and writing skills. Learning these skills are important for
myself to achieve academic and employability skills which are required for a good job in the hot
market. The mentor gave various type of activities to develop our skills. People skill such as
communication are very essential and useful for future career because todays manager find these
skills in the employee (Balabay, 2020). Another activities such as CV writing, interview and
cover letter. After that we able to gather knowledge about reflective writing, analytical thinking
and critical thinking. Learning about these skills are very much useful for me because these skills
are going to help me to complete my tasks.
These skills enable me a more employment opportunities because organization hire candidates
when they find something which is different from regular (Adrian et. all, 2019). From the course
I enjoyed the group discussion which enhances my knowledge how to improve my relevant
skills. The group discussion help me to improve my communication and team working skills. I
also realized that my English writing and time management skills developed a lot than before.
So from now I can prepare myself in time and weight the important and urgent think according
to their urgency.
Conclusion
This step what was learned. Are there any skills developed by from the experience (Markanen et.
all, 2020). If skills developed how it is going apply on future career.
At first I would more focus on effective time management. Understand how to maintain the
balance between time and different activities. I would make a daily routine for me, prioritize
works and make to do lists.
Thirdly I would be highly focus one effective note taking on by focusing on writting down the
relevant information not exaggerated information
Fourthly I would focus on the assignment briefs such as what is wanted, learning outcomes, and
deadline to complete in within given time appropriately.
Formal writing skills I have decided to acquire my I hope I can apply my formal
formal writing skills within a writing skills in my academic life
few months with the help of a and professional life. In academic
course. If I attend the course I life, we need to do several reports
believe that I can certainly be and assignments which require us to
able to improve my academic write formally for getting
writing skills in no time. considerable marks. In professional
life, we also need to write reports
which shill be supportive to go
ahead in professional life if our
formal writing skills of us are better
than our peers.
Research skills I have the plan to acquire Research can be best applied in
research skills within the next professional life. To find out
year with the help of teachers, anything quantitatively or
peers, and paid courses qualitatively requires doing
research. This skill also can be used
in academic life which adds to our
scores in the result.

Academic and employability skills are very much essential to get a better job in the future. From
the module I discovered that studies of academic skill are critical for success in the relevant field
of job. Improvement of these skill are helpful academic and professional life as well as personal
development. Being a part of the module I have developed and enhanced many of my skills such
as time management, formal writing, note taking, interpreting assignment, and research skills. So
