The Disarmament and International Security Committee,

Acknowledging the Geneva Conventions' role in establishing fundamental protections for


civilians and combatants in armed conflict,

Emphasizing the necessity of international cooperation to prevent the proliferation of weapons


of mass destruction (WMDs), including nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons, as an
essential step towards maintaining global peace and security,

Recognizing that adherence to international humanitarian law and disarmament agreements


enhances mutual security and promotes responsible state behavior,

Recalling the obligations of States Parties under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), the
Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), and the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC),

1. Calls upon all Member States to reaffirm their commitment to the Geneva Conventions and to
promote adherence to international humanitarian law, ensuring the humane treatment of all
persons in conflict zones;

2. Expresses concern over the rise in alleged violations of the Geneva Conventions and
underscores the need for transparent, impartial investigations to determine accountability;

3. Encourages the establishment of regional frameworks to support Geneva Conventions


compliance and foster accountability mechanisms, tailored to the specific needs of each region;

4. Urges all States to actively fulfill their obligations under the NPT, CWC, and BWC and to
engage in proactive measures that prevent WMD proliferation, while ensuring peaceful
technology uses;

5. Emphasizes the importance of constructive dialogue among Member States to build trust and
reduce the risks associated with WMD proliferation, with an eventual goal of disarmament;
6. Requests that the Secretary-General, in cooperation with relevant agencies, report to the
Committee on:

(a) Verified cases of Geneva Convention violations and actions taken in response;

(b) Efforts by Member States to prevent WMD spread and enhance international cooperation on
non-proliferation;

7. Urges continuous dialogue and cooperation among nations to enhance transparency and
mutual confidence in arms control efforts, reaffirming the need to prevent WMD use.
