UI/UX COURSE SYLLABUS

Course start and end date: Feb 27 2024 –August 4, 2025*

Course Days: Mondays and Thursdays Course Time: 6 – 9 p.m.

Duration: 4 – 6 weeks Course Type: Virtual, instructor-led

Course Description:
UX stands for User Experience: This is the process by which design teams create products that provide
meaningful user experiences. UX designers are responsible for a user's overall experience as they
interact with every aspect of a product or service, such as an app or multi-step form.

UI stands for User Interaction: User interface design concerns the visual styling of an app or website. UI
designers are responsible for determining the visual elements (e.g. menus, buttons, icons, etc.) that a
person uses to interact with a product or service.

Figma • Sitemaps • Wireframes, prototyping and feedback • Visual design • Spacing and the grid •
Typography • Color • Forms + UI elements • Visual assets • Accessibility • Application design and design
Systems • Design patterns • Mobile design • Motion and micro-interactions • History of the web, HTMS.

Course Learning Outcomes:


Students in this course will be able to:

1. Understand the definition and principles of UI/UX Design in order to design with intention.
2. Achieve a deep understanding of the entire life cycle of design—the process, purpose, and tools.
3. Discover the industry-standard tools and specific project deliverables in UI/UX.
4. Explain why you made design decisions, through presentations of assignments.
