    District Stadium, Mahabubnagar – Abutting land of Social
    Welfare (SCW) Department to be handedover to Stadium authorities-
    Renovation and additional buildings for sports purpose – Requested--
    Reg.

    The DYSO Mahabubnagar and sports associations have brought to my notice
    that
    the present stadium ground (about Ac.9.20 gts.) is not adequate to provide the following
    accommodations for the development of sports in the district.
    1. Sports Hostel
    2. Weight Lifting Arena
    3. Dining Hall
    4. District Olympic Bhavan
    In this context I am to state that, at the entrance of Stadium, abutting to
    stadium grounds land, there is one defunct Social Welfare (SCW) Girls Hostel building in an
    extent of ½ acre (0.20 guntas). At present the hostel is shifted to Dharmapur (V) of
    Mahabubnagar Mandal. This building has to be made available and handedover to Stadium
    authorities for the purpose of sports hostel, duly renovated with necessary accommodation
    facilities. I am told that earlier it was the property of Stadium only.
    Further, there is an old shed in the stadium land which should be renovated and used
    for Weight Lifting arena, and also a provision of Dinning hall and place for District Olympic
    Bhavan have to be earmarked by demolishing certain old and unused sheds existing in the
    Stadium Land.
    In the circumstances explained above, I request your goodself to accord permission
    to provide sports hostel and takeup other works, for the over all development of sports,
    which were neglected for a long in Mahabubnagar district.
