Subhas Southern Centre, Bengaluru
is the Southern Regional Centre of
sports Authority of India- New Delhi,
Under the minister of youth affairs
and sport’s Government of India.
This Centre looks after the sports
related activities of 3 states namely
Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and
Telangana

Site ( Area)
• 81.2 acres of land.
• Divide into two sector
• sector A ( 46.2) acres
• sector B ( 35) acres
• Additional land
measuring (35) Acres of
land is also annexed to
SAI.
Objective

1. To train Indian national teams in Olympics sports disciplines by providing all facilities for
training, boarding, rehabilitation, sports medicines and sports sciences.
2. To run various schemes of government of India aimed at sports promotion in the
southern region ( SAI Training Centre, Special Area Games, Centre Excellence, Adopted
Schools, National sports talent contest (NSTC), Army Boys sports company.
3. To conduct academic programmed that is diploma course in sports coaching (To become
a coach these diploma course is the must) certificate course of in-service physical
education teachers and coaches from India and abroad)And refresher courses in various
sports disciplines.
4. To organize recreational sports schemes of government of India like rural sports
Women’s sports etc.
5. To carry out research works in the field of sports physical education and sports science

Netaji Subhas Sports Authority of
India, Patiala
Introduction
Netaji Subhas National institute of sports Patiala India which is also Asia's
largest sports institute is house in Palatial monumental building and
sprawling lawns built by the erstwhile Maharaja of Patiala whose
descendants dedicated this complex for the promotion of sports to the
people of India. The Institute is located at Moti Bagh Palace, Patiala
(Punjab). The total area of the Institute is 268 Acres.
Environment
Popularly known as the city of gardens Patiala the main academic centre
is known for his education setup and pollution free environment ideal for
sports activities

Climatic Condition
Climate condition of Patiala is hot and humid where is extreme in the
known where is very difficult for athletes to practice
