Section 3: Hazard Identification

- Hazard Phrases:
Combustible Liquid.
May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways.
Causes skin irritation.
May cause drowsiness or dizziness.

Eye contact : Contact with liquid or vapor may cause mild irritation.
Skin contact : Practically non-toxic if absorbed following acute (single) exposure. May cause
skin irritation with prolonged or repeated contact. Liquid may be absorbed
through the skin in toxic amounts if large areas of skin are exposed repeatedly.
Ingestion : The major health threat of ingestion occurs from the danger of aspiration
(breathing) of liquid drops into the lungs, particularly from vomiting. Ingestion
may cause severe health effects including nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, and
central nervous system (brain) effect.

Issue date: Jan,2022 Issue : 2

Safety and Environment Dep/J.B Page 1
Inhalation : Excessive exposure may cause irritations to the nose, throat, lungs and
respiratory tract. Central nervous system (brain) effects may include headache,
dizziness, loss of balance and coordination, unconsciousness, coma, respiratory
failure, and death.

WARNING: the burning of any hydrocarbon as a fuel in an area without

adequate ventilation may result in hazardous levels of combustion products,
including carbon monoxide, and inadequate oxygen levels, which may cause
unconsciousness, suffocation, and death.

CHRONIC EFFECTS and CARCINOGENICITY: Similar products produced skin

cancer and systemic toxicity in laboratory animals following repeated
applications. The significance of these results to human exposures has not been
determined.

Section 4: First Aid Measures

Eye contact : In case of contact with eyes, immediately flush with clean water for at
least 15 min. Hold eyelids open to ensure adequate flushing. Seek
medical attention.
Skin contact : Remove contaminated clothing. Wash contaminated areas thoroughly
with soap and water. Obtain medical attention if irritation or redness
develops.
Inhalation : Remove person to fresh air. If person is not breathing, ensure an open
airway and provide artificial respiration. If necessary, provide additional
oxygen once breathing is restored if trained to do so. Seek medical
attention immediately.
Ingestion : DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Do not give liquids. Obtain immediate
medical attention. If spontaneous vomiting occurs, lean victim forward
to reduce the risk of aspiration. Monitor for breathing difficulties. Small
amounts of material that enter the mouth should be rinsed out until the
taste is dissipated.

Section 5: Firefighting Measures

Use water fog, alcohol foam, carbon dioxide, or dry chemical. Do not

other products of incomplete combustion.

Special protective Firefighters should wear full emergency equipment and a NIOSH
equipment and approved positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus. Cool

container for disposal. Use non-sparking tools and equipment. If
Methods and materials for spill has not ignited, use water spray to disperse the vapors and
containment and cleaning : protect personnel attempting to stop leak. Prevent entry in storm
up sewers and waterways. Runoff can cause a fire or explosion
hazard in sewers.

Section 7: Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling : Avoid contact with the eyes, skin and clothing. Avoid breathing
vapors or mists. Wear protective clothing and equipment. Use
only with adequate ventilation. Wash thoroughly with soap and
water after handling. Keep containers closed when not in use.
Keep product away from heat, sparks, flames and all other
sources of ignition. Do not permit smoking in use or storage
areas. Use with non-sparking tools and explosion proof
equipment. Electrically bond and ground containers for transfer.

Do not cut, drill, grind or weld on or near containers, even

empty containers. Do not reuse containers. Empty containers
retain product residues which can be hazardous. Follow all SDS
precautions when handling empty containers.

Conditions for safe storage, : Store in accordance with regulations for the storage of
including any flammable liquids. Store in a dry, well ventilated area away
incompatibilities from heat, direct sunlight and all sources of ignition. Store away
from oxidizers and other incompatible materials. Protect
containers from physical damage.

Section 8: Exposure controls / Personal protection

Use adequate ventilation to keep vapor concentrations of this
