1. Product Overview
Thank you for choosing the digital stepper driver of Novotech s series.
7022SA driver has built-in pulse command S-type acceleration and deceleration function and limit
frequency optional function, which is set by dial code.In addition, the operation subdivision and current
can be selected by dial switch, with 16 kinds of subdivision and 16 kinds of current selection; the driver
integrates over-voltage, under voltage and over-current protection, and its input and output control
signals are all photoelectric isolation.
We hope that our excellent performance products can help you successfully complete the motion control
project.
Please read this technical manual before using this product.

3.2Power input
The working power supply of the driver is AC power supply, and the input voltage range is between
110V and 230V.Please make sure that the local grid voltage does not exceed the maximum voltage of the
driver.
If the input power supply is single-phase AC power supply. Please install EMI device in front of
driver to filter electromagnetic interference of power grid.
3.3 Motor wiring
7022SA driver can drive two-phase hybrid stepper motor with 130 frame.
Common two-phase stepping motor has 4-wire and 8-wire outlet mode.
4 wires Motor :There is only one way of wiring.
8 wires motor:There are two connection modes: series connection and parallel connection
In series connection, the inductance of winding increases and the current of driver is set to about 0.7
times of that before series connection, which is suitable for low speed applications;
In parallel connection, the inductance of winding is reduced, and the current of driver is set to about 1.4
times of that before parallel connection, which is suitable for high-speed applications.
The standard S series driver signal interface is in pulse form, 7022sa can receive three kinds of pulse
command signals.
The upper controller can be PLC, MCU, control card, controller and other pulse signal generator.
The acceptable pulse level of 7022SA driver is 3.3V ~ 24V (without series resistance)
Quadrature pulse (A / B
quadrature pulse)
By default, when the optocoupler is off, the driver outputs current to the motor; when the internal
optocoupler is on, the driver will cut off the current of each phase of the motor to make the motor in free
state, and the step pulse will not be responded.
When the motor is in error state, it can be automatically disconnected. The level of ENA signal can
be set to the opposite.
3.4.3 Input IO signal: IN1, IN2
IN1 and IN2 are input signals with optocoupler isolation, which can receive differential or single
ended switch input. This signal is the input logic input pin of the driver to increase the trigger condition of
the driver movement. Please contact our engineer for specific use.
ALM and RDY are the logic output pins of the driver, which are defined as ALM alarm output and
RDY ready signal output by default. The alarm state and ready state of the driver can be output to the
external host computer system. The output signal can also be defined as other logic output. Please contact
the our engineer for specific use.

4.1Current setting
The dial codes SW1, SW2, SW3 and SW4 are used to set the current value output by the driver to the
motor
Generally, the current is set to be no more than the rated current of the motor (effective value). If your
system has high requirements on heating, you can reduce the current appropriately to reduce the heating
of the motor.

Dial code SW5, SW6, SW7, SW8 are used to set the number of pulses per revolution of the motor
Motor speed = command pulse frequency ÷ pulse per revolution
Motor stroke = number of command pulses ÷ pulses per revolution
Dial SW9 is used to select the pulse smoothing filtering function of the driver.
Off indicates that the driver does not apply the internal S-type pulse smoothing function when receiving
external instructions; ON indicates that the internal S-type pulse smoothing function is added when the
driver receives external instructions.
Dial SW0 is used to select the input pulse frequency range of the driver.
Off indicates that the maximum frequency of external pulse received by the driver is 200kHz; on
indicates that the maximum frequency of external pulse received by the driver is 1MHz.
