    Doctor of Education honoris causa

    The Foundation would like to congratulate Father Deignan on receiving his second honorary degree of Doctor of Education at the 14th Graduation Ceremony of the Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd) to be held on 13 November 2008. Father Deignan has devoted his love and support to the nurturing of young Wahyanites and people in Hong Kong for more than 50 years. Many of his students are now community leaders. He served both Wah Yan College Hong Kong and Kowloon in different capacities, including teacher, principal and supervisor and made the two schools two of the most respected ones in Hong Kong. He has also played a key role in promoting moral education and whole person development for students in Hong Kong. Father Deignan is the present Chairman of the Foundation and has guided the Foundation in launching many worthwhile fundraising initiatives, including the Dream of Wah Yan Campaign in July 2007 which netted $52 million thus far. The Foundation would like to thank Father Deignan for his guidance and unfailing support.
