General instructions:
1. This question paper contains two parts A and B.
2. Both Part A and Part B have internal choices.
Part – A :
1. It consists of two sections – I and II
2. Section I has 16 questions. Internal choice is provided in 5 questions.
3. Section II has four case study-based questions. Each case study has 5 case-based sub-
parts. An examinee is to attempt any 4 out of 5 sub-parts.
Part – B:
1. Question No 21 to 26 are Very short answer Type questions of questions 2 marks each.
2. Question No 27 to 33 are Short answer Type questions of 3 marks each.
3. Question No 34 to 36 are Long answer Type questions of 5 marks each.
4. Internal choice is provided in 2 questions of 2 marks, 2 questions of 3 marks and 1
question of 5 marks.
PART – A
Section – I
Section I has 16 questions of 1 mark each. Internal choice is provided in 5 questions.
4. Find the value of k for which the following equations are inconsistent. 1

Find the area of a sector of a circle with radius 6 cm and sector angle 60°. (Take 𝜋= 7 )

⊿𝐴𝐵𝐶 is similar to ⊿𝑃𝑄𝑅. ar (⊿𝐴𝐵𝐶) =36 sq.cm and ar(⊿𝑃𝑄𝑅)= 49 sq cm. If BC = 12 cm,

8. The cost of fencing a circular field at the rate of Rs 24/m is Rs 5280. Find the radius of the 1
field.
9. The angle of elevation of the top of a tower at a distance of 150 m from its foot on a horizontal 1
plane is found to be 30°. Find the height of the tower.
10. Find the angle subtended by an arc of length 2𝜋 cm, at the center of a circle of radius 6cm. 1
11. If the median and mode of a data are 52 and 52.4 respectively, then find its mean. 1
12. To divide a line segment BC internally in the ratio 4:7, first a ray AX is drawn so that angle 1
BAX is an acute angle. What will be the minimum number of points to be located at equal
distances on ray AX?
13. If the lines given by 3x-4y+7 = 0 and kx+3y-5 = 0 are parallel then find the value of k. 1
OR
If the equations 2x+3y-5 = 0 and kx-6y-8 = 0 have a unique solution then find the value of k.
14. A card id drawn from a well shuffled deck of plain cards. Find the probability of drawing a 1
face card.
OR
A bag contains 5 black, 7 red and 3 white balls. A ball is drawn from the bag at random. Find
the probability that the ball drawn is not black.
15. If the length of the shadow of a vertical pole is √3 times the height of the pole, find the angle 1
of elevation of the sun.
16. If a letter is chosen at random from the English alphabet, find the probability that the letter is a 1
vowel.

Case study based questions are compulsory. Attempt any four sub parts of each question. 4
Each subpart carries 1 mark.

27. Prove that √5 is irrational. 3
28. Prove that the angle between the two tangents drawn from an external point to a circle is 3
supplementary to the angle subtended by the line-segment joining the points of contact at the
center.
29. In a flower bed, there are 23 rose plants in the first row, 21 in the second, 19 in the third, and 3
so on. There are 5 rose plants in the last row. How many rows are there in the flower bed?
30. One card is drawn from a well-shuffled deck of 52 cards. Calculate the probability that the 3
card will
(i) be an ace,
(ii) not be an ace.
(iii) a red king.
OR
Two dice, one blue and one grey, are thrown at the same time. Write down all the possible
outcomes. What is the probability that the sum of the two numbers appearing on the top of the
dice is
(i) 8?
(ii) 13?
(iii) less than or equal to 12?
31. A cylindrical bucket, 32 cm high and with radius of base 18 cm, is filled with sand. This 3
bucket is emptied on the ground and a conical heap of sand is formed. If the height of the
conical heap is 24 cm, find the radius and slant height of the heap.
Section - V
34. The angle of elevation of the top of a building from the foot of the tower is 30° and the angle 5
of elevation of the top of the tower from the foot of the building is 60°. If the tower is 50 m
high, find the height of the building.
OR
As observed from the top of a 75 m high lighthouse from the sea-level, the angles of
depression of two ships are 30° and 45°. If one ship is exactly behind the other on the same
side of the lighthouse, find the distance between the two ships.
35. Find the sum of all two digit odd positive numbers. 5
36. The following table gives the daily income of 50 workers of a factory. 5
