1. In an arithmetic sequence 3rd term is 25 and 6th term is 37. What is its common difference.

2. A box contains 6 white balls and 4 black balls. If one is taken out from the box.
a) What is probability to get black ball ?
b) What is probability to get white ball ?
3. The sides of given rectangle are parallel to axes and ‘O’ is the origin.
Write coordinates of vertices A and C.

4. Find median of the daily wages 300, 280, 325, 310, 290, 320.

5. In the figure, the central angle of arc ABC is 1000.

b) What is the ratio of the sides of the triangle.

8. In the figure PQ is the tangent through the point A
of the circle with radius 3 cm. Also ∠ABC = 500

9. Dividing a circle having radius 10 cm into two sectors and making two cones using these.
a) What is the relation between the arc length of the sector and base perimeter of the cone ?

10. 2x – y – 4 = 0 is an equation of the line.
a) If the x co-ordinate of a point on this line is 3, find the y coordinate of this point.

11. If P(x) = x2 - 3x + 5 .

b) Write a factor of the second degree polynomial P(x) - P(4) .

12. Draw a circle of radius 2 centimetres. Draw triangle with angles 400, 600, 800 with all its sides
touching the circle.
13. The base area of a square pyramid is 256 cm2 and the total length of all its edges is 132 cm.
a) What is the length of its base edge.
b) What is the slant height of the pyramid.
c) Calculate the surface area the pyramid
14. A circle is drawn with (2,2) as centre (4,5) is a point on the circle.
a) What is the radius of the circle
b) Write the equation of the circle.
c) What are the coordinates of the point at which the circle cuts the X-axis.
15. a) Draw the axes and marks the following points A(-2, 1), B(4,1), C(6.4), D(0,4)
b) Write the most suitable name for the quadrilateral ABCD.

20. In the figure, in triangle ABC BC=10cm, AB = AC, ∠B= 650

21. In the figure OA is the diameter of the semicircle. P is a point

23. In the figure AB is the diameter of circle. x, y, z are the angles


on outside, on and inside the circle.

24. Consider two consecutive multiples of 4.


a) If x is the first multiple, find the second multiple.
b) If 4 is added to the product of consecutive multiples to get 324. Write a second degree equation.

25. A toy is in the shape of a cone attached to a hemisphere. Total height of toy is 21 cm and heigh of
cone is 12cm.
a) Find the base radius of cone

d) Find the Total Surface area of toy.
26. From a point P on the ground, the angle of elevation of the top of 10m tall building is 300 . A flag
is hoisted on the top of building and the angle of elevation of the top of flag post from P is 450 .
a) Draw a rough sketch.
b) Find the distance of building from point P.
c) Find the length of flag post.
27. ΔABC is an equilateral triangle with A(2, 2), B(6,2)
a) Find the length of the side of triangle.
b) Calculate the altitude to the side AB .
c) Write the co-ordinates of C.

28. In ΔABC, AB = 8cm, BC = 6cm and CA= 7cm. Draw the incircle of the triangle and measure the inradius
of triangle.
29. Read the following, understand the mathematical idea expressed in it and answered the (1 x 6 = 6)
questions that follow:
1, 4, 9, 16, ...... are the squares of the counting number s. The remainders got by dividing on the
square numbers with natural numbers have a cyclic property. For example, the remainders on
dividing these numbers by 4 are tabulated here.

Remainder 1 0 1 0 1 .... ..... .....

On dividing by 4 perfect squares leave only 0 and 1 as remainders. From this, we can conclude that an
arithmetic sequence whose terms leaves 2 on dividing by 4 do not have a perfect square.
a) Which are the possible remainders on dividing any number with 4 ?
b) Which are the remainders we would not get on dividing a perfect square by 4?
c) What is the remainder that leaves on dividing the terms of the arithmetic 2, 5, 8, 11, ....... by 4 ?
d) Does the arithmetic sequence 3, 7, 11, ............. contain perfect squares ?
e) Write a sequence with common difference 4 which contains many perfect squares.
