Say (Muhammad), "If you love Allah,
follow me, Allah will love you and forgive
your sins." Allah is Forgiving, Most
Merciful. (Ali-imran, ayat 31)

The simple past tense is used to express something that
occurred in the past but has not continued into the present.

It is formed, most commonly, by adding -ed at the end of the main verb:

Present Perfect
It is used for actions that started in the past but, but are still true
today.

Connect the past and the present. It is used to show the action or
situation in the past continue today

Simple Past
It is used for actions that happened in the past is over done and
finished

Always refer to action an action or situation that is finished
