    Mai:

    The map illustrases some changes to the town of lakeside over a period of nine
    years from 2000 to 2009.
    Overall, the town experienced considerable change during the period shown. The
    most noticeble difference between the tow maps are the expansion of industry
    complex and the rapid changes of the northwest regions.
    As can be seen from the maps,from 2000 to 2009, the residential area in the
    northwest of the lake side remained unchanged during the period shown/given. In
    contrast, the Derelic ware house and Old town were demolished/devastated to
    make way for a car park , offices and a university. The art centre and residential
    area in the west were also destroyed and replaced by a cinema and a shopping
    centre.
    Turning to the other features, the southern residental area disappeared, wheres
    the industry complex was significantly expanded. It is notiable that the large lake
    in the northeast became a pond.
