Citra: Oh! Hello, Diah!
Diah: How are things?
Citra: Not so good.
Diah: Oh, sorry to hear that. What’s wrong?
Citra: Ugh, I can’t decide if I should eat this or not.
Diah: Excuse me?
Citra: I don’t know if I should have rice for lunch.
Diah: Do you like rice?
Citra: Yes, I love rice!
Diah: I don’t like rice that much.
Citra: But rice is so good!
Diah: Well, then you should eat some. Bye, Citra!
Citra: See you, Diah!

Explore: Another kind of personal information is information about your family. Here are some words
used to talk about your family.

Your parents are your mother and father. You might also call them your mama and papa, or mom
and dad. Your siblings are your brothers and sisters.

You might also have uncles and aunts, and you might also have cousins. The parents of your
parents are called your grandparents.

Your child may also be called your son or your daughter. You are your parents’ son or daughter.

Sharing information about your family can also help people to get to know you better. It can also be a
good topic to talk about when meeting someone new.

Experience: Get ready to introduce yourself to your class.

1. Practice saying the expressions used to share personal information. Do this with a partner.
2. After practicing, you will be asked by the teacher to introduce yourself.
3. Start by greeting your classmates and asking them how they are. Your classmates should
respond to you.
4. Then, share your personal information.

b. Where you are from.
c. How old you are.
d. Your family members.
5. End your introduction by thanking and saying goodbye to your classmates. Your classmates
should respond to you.
