Scavenger Hunt
Instructions:

Use the map on the second page as you answer each question and label the associated location. If it is
not on display in the room, make a note of where it can be found or obtained.

1. Find the Fire Extinguisher. Label it as Point 1 on your map.


a. What is the date of inspection on the fire extinguisher?

b. Should a fire extinguisher be used in the case of a small fire?

2. Find the Safety Goggles. Label it as Point 2 on your map.


a. If you wear contacts or glasses, do you need to wear safety goggles?

b. Should you wear goggles when dealing with boiling water?

c. If you are at the lab tables, where should your goggles be?

3. Find the Fire Blanket. Label it as Point 3 on your map.


a. Would you use this if you spilled a chemical on your skin or clothing?

b. Would you use this if your clothing or someone else’s were to catch fire?

4. Find the Eye Wash Station. Label it as Point 4 on your map.


a. How long should you wash your eyes if something were to get into them?

5. Locate each Sink. Label each with the letter associated with that Lab Table.
a. What is the only material that can be safely poured down the drain?

b. When you complete a lab, do you clean your glassware?

6. Locate each Trash Can. Label each with the letters TC.
a. What waste materials should not go here?

7. Locate the Recycling Bins. Label the Paper (G), Cans/Plastic (B), and Cardboard (Box).

c. Should you rinse your cans and plastic bottles before placing them in the bin?
