Technical english course for BAC 3/ L3

Objectives of the course
The present course, devoted to BAC 3 students at Teacher Training college,
aims at:
1. Introducing students to some basic grammatical notions likely to allow
them to deal with the technical English.
2. Introducing my learners to some English texts related to their respective
domains.
3. Getting in touch with some notions of English sounds.

Time management:
The present course will take thirty hours: 2 credits
15: hours: theory
15: hours: practice
The course requirements:
1) The unconditional attendance to the lecturing of the present course is
obligatory;
2) The submission of different tasks related to the lecturing of this course on
time will determine the success to this course;
3) Students must ask questions of some details require them;
4) Students should propose their own teaching methodology if ever the
lecturer’s methodology is far from meeting their needs.

The course grading:


Class assignment: 5 points
Home assignment and quiz: 5 points
Examination: 10 points
Total: 20 points
The course outline:
Part 0: A look at English sounds;
Part one: review on the present tense;
Part two: the study of technical English texts;
0. English sounds:
Sounds are observed when pronouncing a word; and we do
distinguish letters to symbols of phonetics.
We have vowels sound among which some are short, long, and
other are diphthong or diphthongs.
