A. Activating Prior Using Literature Semantic Web Activity, review the students’ knowledge about the previous lesson. The teacher asks the students to enumerate

The teacher asks the students to observe the given poem on the board. The students give their observations. Ask the students to define what is
Tanaga.

Tanaga- is a Filipino poetry form. The earliest recorded tanaga poem is from the 16 th century. Most of these poems are translated from their
native language of Tagalog. It is a deceptively simple form. The traditional tanaga is a quatrain of seven-syllable lines. The syllable count looks
like this: 7-7-7-7. It has an AABB rhyme scheme.

Steps in creating Tanaga


1. Think of a possible topic.
2. Construct a poem consisting of four lines (quatrain).
3. Each line contains 7-7-7-7 syllables.
4. Follow the traditional rhyme scheme AABB
5. Just have fun!
The teacher will also talk about different Filipino values.
