This report is dedicated foremost to Almighty Allah for his favor, mercy and
grace upon my life especially during my six-month Students’ Industrial Work
Experience Scheme (SIWES) program at the Computer Resource Centre, Federal
University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State.

My utmost gratitude goes to Almighty Allah the most beneficent and
merciful, for His divine grace from which I have always benefited from. I am most
grateful to my supportive father, Dr. Lasisi Opadele Jimoh and my mother, Hajia
Lasisi Afusat Olanike, who have always been source of motivation to me and also
of great assistance when it comes to helping me financially.
I would also like to acknowledge my siblings for their love and support and
everyone else that contributed towards making my SIWES training fun and a
successful one. May God Almighty Bless them All (Amen)
I am grateful to the entire Staff of Computer Resource Centre, Federal
University of Technology, Akure, for making my industrial training interesting,
educative and worthwhile.
My special gratitude goes to my industrial based supervisor, Engr.
Adaramola Gbenga, who was always there to supervise and train me in the
execution of my assignments and helped me to develop my skills in Networking,
Hardware; throughout this internship period. I appreciate the other staffs of the
Centre, who all helped in advancing my skills and exposed me to a lot of tools used
in Networking and Troubleshooting. To them all, I say may Almighty Allah bless
you, Ameen.
I am grateful to the management of Fountain University, Osogbo, Osun
State, for organizing this program in cooperation with Industrial Training Fund
(ITF) to produce graduates who are equipped with both theoretical and practical

PROJECT OVERVIEW
This report provides a comprehensive summary of my six-month Students’
Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) training program at Computer
Resource Centre, Federal University of Technology, Akure. It offers a detailed
account of my practical experience and skills gained in key areas, including
Network Administration and computer hardware Troubleshooting.
During my training, I developed skills in diagnosing and repairing faulty

computer hardware components, including motherboards, CPUs, RAM, power
supplies, and peripherals, and successfully resolved issues related to hardware
failures, overheating, and power surges.
I also acquired expertise in networking, learning to design, implement, and

troubleshoot local area networks (LANs), extending network connectivity from
one room to another, mounting switch counters, passing network cables through
ceilings, and crimping cables. Specifically, I configured and managed network
switches and routers, installed and tested network cables (Cat5e/Cat6), and
troubleshot network connectivity issues using diagnostic tools.
