1. Notice Period:
- Students must inform the tutor at least 24 hours in advance if they need to
cancel or reschedule a class.
- Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a cancellation
fee (e.g., 50% of the session fee).
2. Emergencies:
- In case of genuine emergencies (e.g., illness, family emergencies), the
cancellation fee may be waived at the tutor's discretion.
3. Repeated Cancellations:
- If a student cancels sessions frequently (e.g., more than 3 times in a month),
the tutor may discuss the situation with the student to understand the reasons and
decide on a course of action.
1. Definition:
- A no-show is when a student does not attend a scheduled session and fails to
inform the tutor in advance.
3. Repeated No-Shows:
- If a student is a no-show more than twice in a month, the tutor may review the
continuation of the tutoring arrangement with the student.
1. Grace Period:
- Allow a grace period of 10 minutes for late arrivals.
- If the student is late but arrives within the grace period, the session will
continue for the remaining time.
### Communication
1. Contact Methods:
- Students should inform the tutor of cancellations, delays, or emergencies via
a mutually agreed-upon method (e.g., phone call, text message, email).
2. Response Time:
- The tutor will respond to communication regarding cancellations or schedule
changes within a reasonable time frame (e.g., within 12 hours).
1. Advance Payment:
- Payment for sessions may be required in advance, either on a per-session basis
or for a set number of sessions.
2. Refunds:
- Refunds for cancelled sessions will be provided according to the cancellation
policy.
- No refunds will be given for no-shows.
### Agreement
1. Written Agreement:
- A written agreement outlining these policies should be provided to and signed
by the student (or their guardian if the student is a minor).
2. Review:
- Periodically review these policies with the student to ensure understanding
and compliance.
Clear communication of these rules at the start of the tutoring relationship can
help prevent misunderstandings and ensure a smooth, productive experience for both
the tutor and the student.
