Starting-up a New Resource Global City

Key Questions and Ideas for Consideration

The purpose of this document is to provide some key questions and ideas for
consideration in setting-up a new Resource Global city cohort programme. The
starting point is to understand the Vision and Mission of Resource Global:

Vision A global movement of Christian marketplace leaders from every

nation using their resources and influence to advance human
flourishing and multiply Gospel impact across all sectors of society. .

Mission To teach, mentor and connect emerging Christian marketplace

leaders around the world so they can renew their workplaces and
cities for the Gospel.

Key Questions

Purpose

▪ Why have Resource Global in the city? Is there a need?

▪ What is the city known for? What are the dominant marketplace industries?

▪ What are the needs of the city? What areas in the marketplace and
community are most in need of Gospel transformation?

▪ Are there other marketplace programmes in the city? Are there churches or
other Christian organisations providing marketplace equipping as well?
What are they doing and what is their programme like?

Market

▪ What would it look like to have Resource Global in the city? What difference
would it make?

▪ What is the market like? Would there be a demand? Does the church
community have a good understanding of what it means to be a Christian
in the marketplace?

▪ Would people be interested to join the programme? Good to do some

market research, sound people off, get their views.

▪ What sort of people would be interested to join the programme? Young

working adults? People from a specific industry?

▪ What might the Resource Global programme look like in this city – would it
be similar or could it have a different flavour from other Resource Global
cities?

Support

▪ Would there be key organisations that would be willing to support the

programme? (Could be churches, para-church or marketplace
organisations). Could there be partnerships formed to roll-out the
programme?

▪ Who would form the Board of Directors/Advisors for the city? Backgrounds,
diversity, expertise, resources that they bring, etc.

▪ Who would be the City Director (and/or team)? What posture and skill sets
are there - faith background, pioneering spirit, administrative, relational,
facilitation, teaching, mentoring, etc.

▪ Who are potential speakers and teachers? Do they have specific niche
areas and topics related to faith and work?

▪ Who would be mentors? Are there people who might be interested? Do

they have time? Do they have understanding of the foundations of faith &
work?
