This is a versatile and size inclusive pattern, with sizes ranging from XS-3X
and made to measure instructions to adjust at every step {see brackets}.
Worked in front and back panels from the bottom. It also includes
instructions to add buttons and pockets. It is easy to customize to include
a colorwork design, add stripes, or try out a stash busting colorblock look!
It uses half double crochet stitch throughout. It has a ribbed bottom and
inner border or collar. The torso is roomy, the length is hip length on
average.

Written sizing like so: XS (S, M, L, XL, 2X, 3X) in the corresponding symbol
—> (sts) + [rows]

If only one number is in parentheses, it will be the same across sizes.

Double check your fit on the chart below, it is designed to fit roomy in the
torso width, with the length ending at about the hips. If you adjust your
sizing, just follow the steps, keeping in mind the stitch counts in
parentheses are based on the chart only.

size you are making

ABBREVIATIONS:
Ch (chain), HDC (half double crochet), BLO (back loops only), INC (increase),
DEC (decrease), st (stitch), sl st (slip stitch)

COLORWORK TIPS ♡
● shop full add on graphics with instructions autumnolive.com
● Incorporate any graphic from my patterns, graphs from google, or
something created on stitchfiddle.com as long as it fits in the dimensions of
stitches by rows you’ll have.
● When changing colors it should be done on the last stitch of the current
color: insert hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over with the new color
then pull through.
● I recommend carrying your yarn. Keep all ends to one side of the piece.

FEATURED GAME GRAPHICS ♡

● Please refer to the numbered axis on each graphic when determining

placement
● These graphics are intended to go on a vest 6 rows shorter than called for,
but you can make it the full length if you like
● Follow instructions for reversible vest or you could do an open front vest
with graphics on the back
● I will provide listed placements based on my examples, but feel free to place
graphics however you like
● “hdc” below refers to blank stitches that are not part of the graphic, even
though the whole project is hdc
● Be aware of your number of stitches across and be mindful of the
decreases when determining placement of your graphics

♡ PAIR OF VESTS PATTERN ♡

BACK PANEL ♡ make 1 for open front vest, make 2 for pullover vest

● starting with the ribbing

● when you start each color, leave a long tail for seaming the side
● ch 8, turn, starting in the second chain from hook, chs do not count
as sts

note: if you feel like the ribbing needs a more reinforced edge, work the first
and last hdc in each row of ribbing into both loops rather than BLO

row 1: hdc 7, ch 1, turn (7)

row 2-40 [44, 48 ,52, 56, 60, 64]: in BLO, repeat row 1 (7)
on the last row, ch 1, but do not turn

● note: the ribbing should now measure at or a couple inches under

20 (22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32) inches when stretched slightly and laid flat,
this will be just about the width of the widest part of the vest. If it
seems more than 3 inches too small, try again with a bigger hook,
looser tension or size up on the vest

{if adjusted torso width is required, work any number of rows of ribbing
divisible by 4. make sure to distribute that adjustment equally among the
front panel(s) ribbing as well.}

● now working into the side of the ribbing, chs do not count as sts

row 1: work 2 hdc (inc) into the side of the first row, work 1 hdc into the side
of the next row, continue alternating *inc, hdc* until the end 60 (66, 72, 78,
84, 90, 96) sts across, ch 1, turn

row 2-24 [25, 27, 28, 30, 31, 33]: hdc into each st across 60 (66, 72, 78, 84, 90,
96) sts across, ch 1, turn

{if adjusted torso length is required, work more or less rows before the
decreases begin, work about 10 rows less for a cute cropped look. make
sure to apply that adjustment equally among the front panel(s) as well.}

{if you want a looser sleeve opening, work more rows after the decreases
below, make sure to apply that adjustment equally among the front
panel(s) as well.}

row 25 [26, 28, 29, 31, 32, 34]: work 2 hdc decreases, hdc across, work 2 hdc

made a size adjustment on the back panel, do the same here.

{if adjusted torso width was required, remember to adjust accordingly with

ASSEMBLY ♡ for pullover vest

● make sure both panels are turned inside out before assembling.
seaming with a whip stitch.

● line up the panels on top of eachother, using your uppermost tails,

starting with the shoulders at the top, seam the outermost stitches if
you have not adjusted width: 4 (6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16) stitches on each side,
you should be left with 24 (26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 36) open sts on the center
top of each panel

● ensure that this is a comfortable fit over the head, if not, add or
remove 2 seams on each side; fasten off

● using the starting tails from before or new tails, seam up the sides of
the panels until the row where the decreases begin (stop seaming on
your last regular hdc row), fasten off; turn piece right side out before
creating the sleeve ribbing and collar

ASSEMBLY ♡ for open front vest

● make sure all pieces are turned inside out before assembling.
seaming with a whip stitch.

● line up the front panels to each end of the back panel, using your
uppermost tails, starting with the shoulders at the top, seam each
front panel to back panel on the outermost stitches if you have not
adjusted width: 10 (13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28) ; fasten off.

● using the starting tails from before or new tails, seam up the outer
sides of the panels until the row where the decreases begin (stop

side out before creating the sleeve ribbing and inner border
