During my tenure as a Systems Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), I played a pivotal role in
levering SAP technology to address complex business challenges for our clients in the UK based retail
store - ASDA. My responsibilities included analyzing client requirements, designing technical solutions
and implementing robust systems that aligned with their strategic objectives.
Working within TCS's global delivery model, I collaborated with cross functional teams to ensure
seamless integration of systems and applications. This involved participating in development of analytical
methods and algorithms to centralize business functions using ABAP programming language.
Through my performance and contribution in the project. I reduced the average throughout time by 18%
by handling business requests in an efficient manner. I also enhanced efficiency by 20% by doing the
same.
2. What motivated you to pursue B.Tech in CSE at Heritage Institute of Technology, and how do you apply
what you learned in your [SIG1&2]? [300 Words]
Since class 10, I developed a great interest in coding and learning different languages. During my
schooling, I found myself excelling in courses related to Computer Science Engineering (CSE) - coding,
and data structures. These subjects not only captured my interest but also brought out my natural
strengths in problem-solving and analytical thinking. That is how I decided to pursue B.Tech in CSE from
Heritage Institute of Technology.
Combining my technical expertise with strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, I can leverage my
previous knowledge in consulting. I can analyze large datasets and derive data-driven actionable insights
for clients. I can also apply knowledge of machine learning algorithms to develop predictive models and
recommend strategies based on data-driven predictions.
I can help clients develop and implement IT strategies aligned with business objectives, leveraging my
understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
I can combine CSE knowledge with industry insights to provide tailored solutions in sectors such as
healthcare, finance, and retail.
The future of MarTech is very bright and holds a great scope. I will leverage my technical skills that I
learned from my undergrad along with the creativity that I have to successfully create sales and
marketing strategies.
3. Can you describe a project you worked on during your internship at Capgemini and the outcome? [300
Words]
The project that I worked in was designing a network architecture suitable for a small to medium-sized
organization.
There were many deliverables from which under my scope fell setting up Linux servers to serve various
roles: DNS server, DHCP server, Web server, File server, Mail server
We had to implement Virtual Private Network (VPN) for secure remote access, implement centralized
logging for auditing and troubleshooting. We also set up centralized authentication integration with
Linux servers.
We configured user access control and permissions using Role-Based Access Control (RBAC),
implemented off-site backup storage and test recovery procedures, and defined network requirements,
identify hardware/software needs.
Next came creating network diagrams and IP addressing scheme, installing Linux servers on virtual or
physical machines, configuring each server role according to project objectives, and implementing user
access controls and authentication mechanisms. For all the routers and machines, we developed backup
scripts and schedules.
Network design documentation. Server configuration scripts and documentation. Security configuration
documentation.
Monitoring and logging setup documentation. Creating user management and authentication
configuration details. Developing backup strategy documentation and test results.
4. How did you develop the skills listed under your hobbies, and how will they benefit you in a
professional setting? [300 Words]
I developed dancing as a hobby since childhood while taking lessons at first and then participating in
various functions and competitions, meeting new people with similar interest, it being a clear ice-
breaker to start a conversation. Enjoying music, it soon became a joyful and expressive outlet for
creativity.
During the lockdown period in Covid, when no outside help was available and the families were spending
time with each other like never before, I started helping my mother in cooking. I then decided to be
creative and cook something that everyone wants to eat but is not easily available in the current
situation. The first thing that came to mind was CAKE! Being a sweetooth, I loved this idea and soon
explored all kinds of baking like cakes, cupcakes, muffins, cookies, etc.
Exploring and reading about diverse destinations, cultures, and cuisines has always intrigued me. This is
an interest that in the future ahead, as and when I am capable, I would love to travel. local and
international, planning itineraries, and embracing spontaneity and enrich my understanding of global
perspectives, creating unforgettable memories along the way.
5. How did your experience as Council Member in Sushila Birla Girls’ School shape your teamwork and
collaboration skills? [300 Words]
As a volunteer in Sushila Birla Girls' School, responsible for hosting the annual fest, I aided a team of
more than 12 council members, for getting sponsorships worth more than 5 lacs from more than 20
brands. This involved organizing meetings, setting deadlines, and keeping everyone motivated and
focused.
I facilitated teamwork among diverse individuals with varying strengths and personalities. By fostering a
positive team environment and encouraging open communication, we brainstormed ideas, resolved
conflicts, and capitalized on each member's strengths.
Managing the fest required meticulous planning, budgeting, and time management. I cooperated
management of 15+ events with 1500+ participants. During the event, I also managed logistics and
operational continuity.
Effective communication was crucial in conveying ideas, delegating tasks, and maintaining transparency
within the team. I also communicated with sponsors and participants to ensure their needs were met
and expectations were exceeded.
Overall, my experience as a Council Member in hosting the annual fest enhanced my teamwork and
collaboration skills by providing practical opportunities to lead, coordinate, problem-solve, and
communicate effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. These skills continue to benefit me in
academic pursuits, professional endeavors, and personal growth.
6. What was the most challenging aspect of your coursework at HITK, and how did you manage it? [300
Words]
After completing my first year in B.Tech from Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata, I made a
significant decision to change my engineering stream due to my evolving interests. Initially enrolled in
Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (AEIE), I found myself excelling in courses related to
Computer Science Engineering (CSE) - coding, and data structures. These subjects captured my interest
in problem-solving and analytical thinking.
As I progressed through my first year, I became increasingly aware of the potential career paths and
opportunities available within the field of CSE. I started collecting information through institute website
and talking to the seniors of my preferred stream to know more about what the course has to offer, and
my passion for CSE grew stronger.
The 1st year syllabus was same for all the streams so it was allowed to change your stream only once at
the end of 1st year before the beginning of 2nd year. To be eligible to do so, one had to score
exceptionally well and be in the top 10% of their class. I worked hard to attain this goal of mine and was
successful in doing so.
The decision to change my engineering stream was not made lightly. It involved careful consideration of
my academic strengths, personal interests, and career goals. I gained insights into the prospects and
demands of CSE, i.e. the great potential that its emerging concepts like AI and ML hold in the future, to
ensure that my decision was well-informed and aligned with my aspirations.
I am confident that my decision to change my engineering stream was the right one, paving the way for a
fulfilling and successful career aligned with my strengths and aspirations.
