Dear Parents/Guardians,

Edwardian Greetings!

I hope this letter finds you in great spirits. We are excited to announce that our school
will celebrate United Nations Day on October 23, 2024. This event is a wonderful
opportunity for our students to learn and appreciate the diversity of cultures and to
engage in meaningful discussions about global issues.

As part of the celebration, we encourage all students in grades 9-12 to participate by

wearing costumes that represent various countries. Students can be creative and use
old clothes and fabric they already have at home—there's no need to purchase new
attire. We want to emphasize that cross-dressing is not prescribed for this event; instead,
we encourage students to express their cultural representations in ways that feel
comfortable to them. If students already have costumes from previous years that
represent their chosen country, they are welcome to wear those as well.

In addition to the costume celebration, we are excited to host several engaging events
and competitions that are open to all students in grades 9-12. These include:
● Bulletin Board Making: Students can collaborate to create visually captivating
displays that highlight different cultures and global issues.
● Snap for Change: A Photo Contest: This competition invites students to capture
and share photos that reflect global awareness and cultural appreciation.
● Advocacy Blitz: A Global Voice: Students will have the opportunity to advocate
for causes that matter to them, amplifying their voices on global platforms.
● UN Simulation: Global Discussion: Participants will engage in a simulated
discussion that mirrors the workings of the United Nations, tackling pressing global
challenges.
● Quiz Bee: A fun and competitive way for students to showcase their knowledge
of world cultures, current events, and global issues.

We believe that these experiences will provide valuable learning opportunities for your
child and will help them grow into responsible global citizens. Thank you for your
continued support in making this celebration a success. We look forward to a day filled
with learning, creativity, and cultural appreciation!

Sincerely,

Ms. Vermalyn A. Tambulasa
