The above part time (0.8FTE) permanent post is available immediately within Education and Academic
Services on a fixed term basis until the 31st of July 2025.

Job Description

Main purpose of the job:

The postholder will support staff across the University in the development of blended and online learning.
The postholder will support the development of specific online resources, develop new e-learning materials
and provide advice on the use of e-Learning especially relating to the use of the Exeter Learning
Environment (ELE is currently based on the Moodle VLE platform). The postholder will maintain and develop
existing resources, provide support and training for staff in the use of ELE and other integrated enabling
technologies.

Main duties and accountabilities:

1) To provide support to colleagues across the University by promoting e-learning.

2) To develop and deliver staff development session relating to e-learning and ELE to colleagues across
the University

3) To provide 2nd line support for staff using the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

4) Help staff with the design of blended and e-learning materials and their implementation in ELE.
a) Collating materials from staff to be made available in ELE.
b) The design, import and integration of materials with the interactive tools within ELE.
c) The training of college staff developing online materials to support their teaching.
d) The promotion of e-learning to staff with particular reference to how it can enhance their teaching.

5) To contribute to the development of e-Learning at the University working closely with the colleagues in
the e-learning team.

6) Support the development and delivery of online formative and summative assessments.

7) To identify local and national resources for use by academic staff in their teaching.

8) To maintain a working knowledge of IT and e-learning developments.


9) To work with colleagues and professional services to ensure the resolution of complex problems.

10) To participate in part or all of a defined project and to take responsibility for its successful delivery.

11) To assist in the production of high quality on-line documentation relevant to the services supported.
