I.RESEARCH TITLE

EXPLORING THE EFFECTS AND SOLUTIONS ON PLASTIC POLLUTION

II.SHORT INTRODUCTION

Plastic pollution is one of the biggest problems for our environment. It happens because we
make and use too much plastic, which often ends up as litter. This is harmful to nature, animals, and
people. We chose this problem because we want to learn more about why plastic pollution happens and
how we can reduce the causes of plastic pollution. Our goal is to help everyone understand the issue
and find better ways to deal with plastic waste. In this research, we will look at why plastic pollution is a
problem, what bad things it does, and how we can make things better.

III. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

1. How does plastic pollution harm the ecosystems?

2. What are the primary sources of plastic pollution in our environment?
3. What practical and effective solution exists to reduce plastic pollution?

IV. DATA PRESENTATION

Plastic pollution has been a topic of rising environmental concern in recent years. Model
estimates show that between 0.8 and 30 million metric tonnes of plastic wastes enter the aquatic
environment annually around the globe (Borrelle et al., 2020)

The majority of plastic pollution is generated on land and transported through rivers to the
marine environment (Pawar et al., 2016)

Plastic pollution can have adverse effects in all three of these systems, which include the
reduction of livelihoods of those dependent on ecosystem health, fishing, and tourism, contamination of
seafood with micro plastics with implications for food safety and human health, property damage, and
an increased risk of floods in urban areas (Gall and Thompson, 2015)
Plastic pollution has become one of the most pressing environmental issues as the capacity of
the globe to handle the rapidly increasing output of disposable plastic goods gets overburdened. Plastic
pollution is especially obvious in underdeveloped Asian and African nations when garbage collection
services are either inadequate or nonexistent. However, collecting used plastics effectively is a problem
in the developed world as well, especially in countries with poor recycling rates. (Laura, 2019)

The ecosystem deteriorates as a result of materials whose production and destruction are out
of balance. One material that significantly endangers the environment is plastic. Plastic is generated in
enormous quantities and released into the environment, where it takes a long time to decompose
organically. In this essay, we discuss how to organize a sizable body of material that has been written
about how to handle waste plastics, which is currently the most difficult problem facing society. (IIyas
ahmad, et al. 2018)

V.CONCLUSION:

Plastic pollution harms ecosystems in various ways, releasing harmful chemicals that contaminate soil
and water and causing animals to become trapped in plastic items. We need to stop plastic pollution to
keep our environment safe. Plastic pollution comes from one-time use of plastics, littering, not recycling
properly, tiny plastic particles, and plastic packaging. We need to deal with these sources of plastic
pollution. To stop plastic pollution, we can use things like reusable bags and bottles, follow recycling
rules, support laws against single-use plastics, and join a clean-up drive. We can also apply the 3 R's to
recycle plastic and use it again. These are easy and good ways to help our environment.
