ACTIVITY 1.1
1. The Maxwell University is located along San Vicente Street, Bogo City, Cebu. Its location is
few blocks away from the San Vicente Church, The Bogo Plaza, Rizal Park, and other
establishments of the City of Bogo. Across the school, you can see the Studio 9, where the
pictorial of the school’s identification and other school-related pictorials take place. Beside it, it
has also some food corners where students get to eat their lunch and snacks. The left side of the
school also has educational store, the BES, and a computer shop. Across it, you can see the
vehicles of the students and staff being parked just beside the road. At the back of the campus,
you can see the Rizal Park and an intersection road heading towards the other side of the school.
2. Maxwell University is a U-shaped five-storey building, the structure is concrete but wood is
used for flooring. The inside has its own school ground, with a stage on it. The dominant color of
the school is green and has nude brown accent. The school has adequate space with classrooms,
school halls, office room, library, and other school facilities. The school looks a bit crimp
because of the flooring but it is as sturdy as a Narra tree. On the hallways of every floor, you can
see emergency equipment and an emergency exit.
3. As I passed by the school’s offices, I have observed that it was properly organized, everything
is in order, as well as all the files on the corners, the inside is pleasing to the eyes, and the office
are well-ventilated and has good lighting. What I like most of the offices are the well thought of
design of the interior.
4. I have observed that Maxwell University has the following facilities starting from the
extension of the school located outside, specifically on the right side if you are facing the
campus, where you can see the ROTC Office. Upon entering the school campus, you can see the
Registrar’s Office and the School Canteen across it. The Cashier’s Office, Accounting Office, as
well as the President’s Office can be found on the school ground. The school also has SkolBox
similar to canteen and cafeteria. On the second floor, the school has Speech Laboratory and
Student Affair’s Office. Walking on the third floor hallways, you can see the Alumni and
Scholarship Office. You can also find the New Clarion’s Office on the 4 th floor. Lastly, on the
last floor, the fifth one, you can see the DYVL Station of the school.

2. The chairs are arranged in a traditional way where the desks are facing the board. It has also a
small aisle in the center. The teacher’s table is located at the center with a little elevation or the
table is placed on a mini-stage. The desks are arranged orderly with enough space for the
students and teacher to move around the classroom.
5. Yes, the room is well-lit; it has light bulb and natural light. It is also well-ventilated since it
has two wall fans each side and natural air coming in from outside.
PAGE 7
1. Wall Displays
Usually placed at the back of the room some are on every corner, there are approximately 5 wall
displays, one for each subject. They are well-arranged, very comprehensive, the fonts are clear
and readable, the lay out is balanced, and a well thought of design which is also eye-catching.
2. Teacher’s Table
There is only one table located in front of the room with a little elevation because of the mini-
stage. The table is in good condition; it is well furnished, and doesn’t occupy much of space.
3. Learner’s Desk
The desks are placed at the center of the room and it was arranged in a traditional way. It doesn’t
take much of space rather it has an aisle at the center for the students and teacher to move easily
in the classroom. The desks are made out of wood, it is also not too heavy, and all are in good
condition- it is well furnished, not broken, and in a perfect shape.
4. Blackboard
Not the typical blackboard because it is known as whiteboard where a marker is used to write
anything onto it. It is usually placed in front of the classroom and it is well-stick on the wall. It is
clean and shiny and there are no stickers on it.
Placed on every corner of the classroom. There are also visual aids at the front and back of the
room. There are books placed on the shelves at the back and some informative displays posted
on the wall. All materials are in perfect shape, well-arranged, and a well thought of design.
ANALYZE
How do the school campus and the classroom in particular impact the learning of the students
going to school? What are your conclusions?
The school is undeniably of great importance to the learning of the students. The school provides
an environment where quality education is on the top priorities as well as making the
environment safe and conducive to learning. I conclude that the school plays an important role in
shaping the future of the youth from its safe-as-haven place to its quality teaching which students
can learn and be safe while at school.
How does this relate to your knowledge of child and adolescent development/How does this
relate to your knowledge of facilitating learning?
In relation to my previous knowledge of child and adolescent development, students learn easily
if they were exposed to a friendly atmosphere, free from distractions and noises. They could
easily learn if every meeting teacher uses variety and novelty of learning materials and motivate
them always. In connection to my previous subject facilitating learning, in doing our tasks as a
teacher we should follow the methods and techniques that are best for students to learn and see to
it that it is effective and it we could also reflect on to it and improve our teaching practices.
REFLECT
1. Yes, I would like to teach in the school that I have observed in the sense that the environment
of the school is good. The building is situated in a good place which provides proper ventilation
and access to different establishments necessary for my studies. And since this is my beloved
Alma mater and my mom’s, I would really love to teach here.
2. In my own views and opinion, a certain school can be considered conducive to learning if it
has complete facilities such as standard size classrooms, laboratories, library, and other school
facilities which contribute to the learning of students. The surroundings should be clean, well-
maintained and free from any pollution. Students should feel safe and secure to consider it as
conducive.
3. A classroom can be considered conducive to learning if it is clean, well- ventilated and with
proper lightning. It should also have the complete facilities and equipment necessary to facilitate
the teaching learning process. Lastly, it should not be too crowded to prevent classroom
management problems and to maximize learning.
4. If I am blessed by God and granted my aspirations in life that is to become a teacher someday,
I’ll be resourceful and creative when I structure my classroom. I make sure that my classroom is
well-organized. I will be hands-on in structuring my classroom as well as implementing rules,
procedures, and routines to have a classroom that is conducive to learning.
5. This subject helps me to learn everything necessary for the students to become future
educators. The ability to observe classroom conditions will help me to become aware about how
to achieve good and effective school environment and on how to provide the learners a
classroom that is conducive to learning.
ACTIVITY 1.2
1. I have seen lots of display boards inside a classroom and I think it’s approximately 10-15
types of display boards.
2. They are placed on every corner especially at the back portion of the room. They are perfectly
in place where viewers can easily view the display board.
3. The displays are all educational. Some are about certain topic every subject like in Math-
statistics and probability. Some are quotation and saying, others are the rules, cleaning
assignment, and routines displayed on the wall. The display boards wanted to inform the viewers
and give knowledge about certain topic like in Science- the display board is all about the planets.
As to their colors, it was eye-pleasing, and a well thought of the colors- the combinations are on
the next level. The information as well as the images are well arranged, you can easily absorb
what the display is about since it is comprehensive.
4. The materials used are colored papers, glue, scissors, coloring materials, Popsicle sticks, yarn,
cardboard, glue gun, and glue stick. Some displays also has borders made out of wood some are
made of wall stickers.
7. The first thing that got my attention is the use of colors. It got my attention because they
choose the best pair of colors which are eye-pleasing and it matched with the color of the
classroom.

do not noticed errors or any misspelled words. Also, the messages being conveyed are clear and
easy to understand. The very first thing that got my attention is the use of colors. It got my
attention because they choose the best pair of colors which are eye-pleasing and it matched with
the color of the classroom. It seems lively and the feeling that you really want to read all those
displays got me that’s why the displays are so effective.
ANALYZE
Its purpose is to inform the viewers, convey a message, and/or attract the viewers to learn
something.
Did the board display design reflect the likes/interests of its target audience? Why? Why not?
Yes, it reflects the likes/interests of its audience because it is age-appropriate, the topics are
comprehensive, and a well thought of design.
Was the language used clear and simple for the target audience to understand? Why? Why not?
Yes, the language used is clear and simple because it is based on the grade or year level of the
students so students could comprehend easily.
Yes, it is effective because it is informative and students are able to comprehend what the display
conveys. It is eye-catching therefore students gain interest in learning the topic.
If there’s one thing I can suggest, maybe it’s the use of front and its size. It’s more effective if it
is of the exact font- not too small and not too big. And consider also the right font to be used.

REFLECT
1.
a) Innovative: I believe that the teacher should try new things even if the topic assigned for
bulletin board display is old. The teacher should be able to produce something fresh, new,
different, and interesting that can capture the attention of the students.
b) Resourceful: Not all schools provide everything for the set-up of bulletin boards. Hence,
a teacher should be able to deal skillfully despite the lack of resources.
c) Creative: There are an abundance of resources available over the Internet to enhance the
creativity of the teacher. Through creativity, the bulletin board can easily capture the
attention and the eyes of the students.
d) Tech-Equipped: It is important to be updated with resources that are available over the
Internet. A lot of useful data are being shared online by fellow teachers. The key is to
select the appropriate resources for your target audience.
e) Organization: The content and outline of the bulletin board should be well thought of.
There should be a balance between photos and texts.
2. Among the skills I have enumerated above, I believe that I am organized, resourceful, and
tech-equipped. I have become more selective of information that I provide to my students. I have
developed the skill to separate and use only the most useful and important data. Lastly, as far as
technology is concerned, I learn how to weight whether the available online resources are useful
and appropriate to my students or not. I also ensure that what I display in the bulletin board is
also discussed in the classroom.
3. I have to admit that I am not really a creative person when it comes to drawing or coloring but
I always try my best in what I do. I believe that these skills can be developed over time through
constant practice.
