Every Pupil is expected to have basic knowledge and skills in
# data handling
PRE-REQUISITES # four basic operations like +,-,x and ÷
& # basic terminology like random experiment, event, outcomes, possible out comes, likely events, favourable outcomes, probability etc.,
SKILLS # dealing with probability of certain experiments with coin, dice, deck of cards, spinning wheel etc.,
# calculating the probability in case of events dealt with experiments in tossing coins, rolling dice, picking up a card from a deck of playing
cards, spinning a wheel etc.,
Learning Outcomes

After Completion of this lesson every student will be able to

# recall the terms like event, random experiment, favourable outcome, possible outcome, likely events, probability.
# find the probability of occurance of an event in an experiment done like tossing a coin, rolling a dice, spinning a wheel, picking up a card from a deck of cards etc.,
# find the probability of an event theoretically without actually doing the experiment.
# arrive at a general formula for finding the probability of occurance of any event.
# utilize the knowledge of finding probability of an event effectively in real life situations.

Teaching Learning Process

INTRODUCTION /INDUCTION Experience & Reflection
Teacher introduces the concepts of finding the probability of happening of an event
theoretically without actually doing the experiment by utilizing and recalling the knowledge of
children in finding the probability of an event experimentally which they were already
experienced in finding so, in case of tossing coins, rolling dice, picking up a card from a deck of
cards etc., in previous classes.
# Pupils will recall their knowledge in finding the
probability experimentally and utilize this
knowledge in finding the probability
theoretically.
# Students will experience the usage of concept
of finding probability in real life situations.

Teacher recalls pupils' knowledge probability like tossing coins, spinning wheel, rolling dice the activity and will under the guidance of
of finding probability of happening etc., and are instructed to find the probability in each case understand that they teacher
of an event while doing an by doing the said experiment. need some new tactics
experiment as Later teacher explains about theoretical probability and to find out the mean,
guides children in finding the probability of certain events median and mode of
with a number of illustrations using theoretical probability grouped data
formula. Teacher demonstrates about different
terminology like sure event, impossible event, sample space
etc.,

Later teacher guides children in

understanding about Theoretcial
probability as since it is not
possible to conduct every
experiment,
