    Pre-coated stainless steel strips for


    fuel cell separators and interconnectors
    Sandvik Materials technology developed roll-to-roll PVD coating process of various substances on metal substrates which is intended
    to be used for separators, interconnectors and bipolar plates for various fuel cells components.

    Product characteristics
    Vacuum deposition(PVD) coated stainless steel substrates in coil condition.
    The process consists of :
    (1) Inspection and a removal of oxide layers. (2) Vacuum evaporation coating. (3) final inspection and (4) slitting and packing.

    Thin, and uniform thickness tolerance. And high purity
    Good adhesion of coated layers on substrate which enables gas flow channel forming by stamping without peeling-off
    Superior electrical conductive performance compare to bare metal substrate.
    Environmental friendly “dry”coating process which does not generate waste water, waste gas from the production.

    Customer’s benefits expected by our products


    Currently, most common processes of manufacturing of metal separators and interconnectors are stamping for gas flow channel
    forming. Then batch coating process comes next, such as vacuum coating, electrical plating in a furnace.
    SANDVIK SANERGY, pre-coated stainless steel strips is supplied as coated condition. It provides a possibility of an elimination of
    batch coating processes after stamping at customers which enable a cost reduction and better productivities.
