Funded by Ohios National Emergency Grant Received from the Department of Labor
Operated locally by Monroe County One-Stop Employment Center
The On-the-Job Training (OJT) National Emergency Grant is a federally funded program that helps employers hire and train dislocated/laid-off workers for longterm, full-time employment. Through a 50% wage reimbursement, the employer is reimbursed for the training costs associated with the individual. The length of the training period is based on the individuals skills and qualifications as compared to the job requirements. Each individual must be determined eligible for OJT prior to being hired. OJT wage must be at least $10.00/hour. (Wage is subject to change based on performance requirements.) The employer commits to retaining the individual upon successful completion of the training period. Employers must not have laid-off workers from the same or similar positions and may not use OJT to displace current workers or reduce their hours, wages or benefits. Minimal paperwork. A win-win for both the employer and individual. Potential OJT candidates for employers can be obtained in two ways: Employers can post job openings with our agency, and our agency can refer job applicants for consideration. If any of the applicants would qualify as dislocated/ laid-off workers under the grant, they could be candidates for OJT. Employers can refer individuals to our agency for OJT eligibility determination as dislocated/laid-off workers under the grant. NOTE: If individuals do not qualify for this grant, they may qualify for on-the-job training under other funding sources. For On-the-Job Training information, please contact: Monroe County One-Stop Employment Center 100 Home Avenue Woodsfield, Ohio 43793 (740) 472-1602, Ext. 225
