STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

My youth is a treasure trove of lovely memories, and it is one of these remembrances that has shaped me
into the man I am now. Growing up in rural India, I spent hours frolicking in the huge fields of my
village, enjoying the diversity and wandering in the afternoon sun. I'd be surrounded by farm machinery,
and though I didn't realise it at the time, curiosity was already coursing through my veins. I've seen
farmers toiling away on the farm all year and still not achieving the anticipated harvest due to a variety of
issues. Farmers in my area have struggled in the drought years as they have been using conventional
agricultural practices. These occurrences taught me about machinery, which became a defining milestone
in my life. My adventure began with a desire to improve agricultural equipment and gadgets. My interest
in mechatronics grew stronger, and I shared the same sense of wonder as a child. I believe that obtaining a
Master's degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation, and Control from the illustrious XXX Is the next
logical step for me. I am certain that the curriculum of my selected programme will significantly improve
my skills and knowledge.

I completed my Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics from the esteemed _______. For me, the course
opened the door to studying a myriad of important components. Through this course, I got introduced to
subjects like Modelling and Simulation, Industrial Robotics, Industrial Drives, PLC and Data acquisition,
Mechatronics System Design. It has helped me understand the value of a variety of modern sophisticated
techniques such as digital modelling, data encoding, ergonomics design skills, data science, AI, and
machine learning. I couldn't wait to put what I'd learnt into practice and increase my technical abilities. I
was always motivated to learn new things and develop perfect machines that could solve a variety of
problems, which I eventually learned via the course. I am confident that my acceptance into this
bachelor's programme provided me with extensive knowledge and invaluable experience, both of which
have considerably reinforced my foundation in this demanding field.

As an adherent disciple of pragmatic understanding, I have approached my scholastic projects as an

experience to correlate the knowledge that I have assimilated through the course. As the water table has
fallen considerably since 1997, about 2 lakh people die every year in India as a result of pesticide
poisoning. These two characteristics play a significant role in traditional farming. To solve this challenge,
we created and built Agrobot, a completely automated CNC-based farming robot. We integrated with
various technologies ledgers and predictive analytics, and the bot's architecture is rack and pinion based,
allowing it to cover the maximum area of input programmed. Because of the various lockdown steps
enforced due to Covid, we had difficulty organizing teamwork, hardware management, and obtaining
technical expert help. As the institution was closed, we were unable to reach the laboratory. Nonetheless,
we completed the project with precision output, cost-effectiveness, and within the time frameset.

During the lockdown, I worked on self-projects since I was curious about developing equipment to solve
human problems. I assisted the police department in the deployment of a surveillance drone that
autonomously surveyed the city. I used open-source tools such as mission planner, Ardupilot, and Px4
autopilot. With the aim to reduce human exposure to pathogens by minimizing human contact as much as
possible at hospitals and local covid centres, I initially developed 6 UV sanitizing robots using Arduino
and Raspberry Pi. Surprisingly, this attempt at the automation of sanitization was noticed throughout the
district, which further motivated me and my team to deliver 18 robots across the state. When I was
appointed to work with Maharashtra's ministry of health care, I formed a joint venture with the IT team to
develop an AI chatbot for the Maharashtra government's covid helpline website, where we worked on
enhancing the chatbot with Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NPL) technique and adding a sentiment
analysis model to identify different questions and queries behind users' messages.

Apart from academic brilliance, I participated in various extracurricular activities. I was awarded the 24th
rank nationwide at a quiz competition by IISF 2020. I also took part in SAVE's 'Autonomous Underwater
Vehicle' competition. At the university tech fest 'Ambiora Techfest-2019,' I was named event director. In
addition, I was the primary organizer for Tedx NMIMS Shirpur 2020. At the ISBF Paper Presentation
Competition, I also presented research on Financial Fraud Detection Using Artificial Intelligence and
Machine Learning. I realized that these activities assisted me in developing interpersonal skills, which I
believe are beneficial in both my professional and personal life. These positions instilled in me a strong
feeling of responsibility and shaped me into a capable public speaker and leader.

Apart from working on diverse projects, I undertook an internship to broaden my professional acumen.
With a growing interest in automation, I completed a one-month internship at _____, a startup, and was
able to secure a new position in plant engineering. As I observed the assembly line in action, this
internship affected my decision to work in automation. As I designed a programmable ON-OFF timer for
heavy-duty machines with RF remotes, I had hands-on expertise with hardware and software such as
PLC, DCS, and SCADA. I also had the opportunity to work with the company's various clients, where I
was introduced to the design and development of customized CNC machines. I had the opportunity to
work on 6 DOF Robotic Arm Welding. It helped me build confidence in my ability to tackle real-world
challenges and improve my communication, leadership, and time management abilities.

After completing my desired Master's Course, I plan to pursue a PhD in the same field, focusing on AI for
smart sensing. Later on, I would like to work for a reputable corporation in Germany. I see myself ten
years from now as a researcher and creator of smart Agri-tech goods. I want to work for a top German
firm to bring that technology to India and make it feasible for as many Indian farmers as possible to be
aware of growing advanced agriculture technologies and practice smart farming. I want to serve as a link
between German technology and knowledge and Indian agri-tech companies and farmers.

I am confident that my analytical approach coupled with problem-solving, internet research, analysis from
optimization, critical thinking and communication skills will only enhance my role as a Professional
Engineer. A masters in mechatronics will be more valuable as I hold theoretical and laboratory
knowledge in subjects like Modelling and Simulation, Industrial Robotics, Industrial Drives, PLC and
Data acquisition, Mechatronics systems, Artificial intelligence, MEMS, Signals and systems. Because I
have a defined goal and a strong interest in the subject, I can be more productive in my studies.
Graduating from your university would enable me to solve the complex problems of farming. I am
excited to learn under the guidance of proficient professors in the University. I am confident that
leadership skills, coupled with my impressive academic account and professional experiences, qualify my
candidacy as competent. It is my sincere hope that my application will be considered by the admission
committee of your prestigious university.
