LESSON 1: COURSE OVERVIEW

Read the LDM Course Overview. Reflect on the overview by answering the
following questions. Write down your insights in this Study Notebook.
1. What is the main delivery of this course?
As pandemic spread out throughout the world education is one of the most
affected during this day. The Department of Education have this course as a response
to Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan to ensure that we teachers, can provide
quality education with no face to face learning and guaranteeing the safety of
wellbeing of all learners, teachers and other DepEd employees.
The course also introduces three learning modality alternatives: distance
learning, blended learning and home schooling , which can be used to sustain quality
education to all the learners.

2. How can this course help ensure that you will be able to deliver quality
instruction in the “new normal”?
This course will serve us a guide to the three learning modalities which can be
used to ensure the quality education that will delivered to all learners. These learning
alternatives and all the learnings we get from this course can contribute immensely to
the preparation of teachers in dealing up to the new normal. This course will ready us
to adopt the new situation.

3. What are the two support mechanisms that will help you with your learning in
this course?
The two support mechanisms that will help us with our learning in this course
are the LDM 2 for Instructional Coaches and LDM 2 for Teachers. LDM2 for
Instructional Coaches is intended for school and division leaders focus on the
implementation and management of the alternative learning delivery system at all
levels in education while LDM2 for Teachers lead us to focused on the instructional
implications of using the these alternative in LDM’s.

1. How will my personal characteristics and circumstances affect (positively or
negatively) my participation in this course?
It’s truly affect my personal characteristic positively in this course . This
course is a big help to all the teachers for us to easily determine the right learning
alternatives that will be used for our learners.
I can say also that there is some circumstances that will affect negatively my
participation in this course because we are working from home. I’m working during
office hours, and I cannot avoid myself from doing some household chores at the
same time. But it will not be a hindrance to stop me from learning this course.

2. How can I ensure that I am able to sustain my strengths and address the
obstacles that will hinder me from completing this course?
Time management is the key in sustaining my strengths in completing this

ACTIVITY 3
Look for a colleague with whom you would like to discuss your answers and
reflections with the questions in Activities 1 and 2.
We are all working from home, we do collaborative discussion with my LAC team through
the use of Google Meet platform and we use also Facebook Messenger for sharing some
insight about the different activities in the modules.

LESSON 2: ORGANIZING YOUR LEARNING ACTION CELL (LAC)


ACTIVITY 1
Begin by refreshing your memory on the LAC. Read DO No.35, s.2016.
Once you’re done, answer the following questions. Write your responses and any
other ideas and reflections in this Study Notebook.
1. Reflect on the objectives for conducting LAC sessions in DO 35, s.2016. Rank
the following objectives from easiest to the most difficult to achieve:

2. What are the top three challenges to having a successful LAC? List down and
elaborate.
The three challenges of having LAC session are: A) by scheduling of
meeting ,. B) Disruption on Wi-fi connectivity. C) personal characteristic of a
teacher.

Scheduling of meeting, since we use different kinds of platforms like google meet,
zoom and so on. We only have time allotted for the LAC session
A. Disruption on Wi-fi connectivity, having a stable internet connection is a
must nowadays. As our school head says using internet is not a luxury it is
a necessity because everything now is done over the internet.

B. Personal characteristics of a teacher, Lac session will success depends on


the teacher’s characteristics. If the teacher is adopting the learning and

transferring its objectives and goals.

ACTIVITY 2
Form your LACs. See Figure 1 for reference.

According to DO 35,s 2016 , a LAC should have no less than two but not more than
15 members each. Get in touch with your designated Coach or LAC Leader in
forming LAC’s.
1. Agreed on a date and time to meet and discuss in forming LAC’s. We should
follow LAC session 1 . It is the guide for the conduct of the LAC.

2. During this meeting, decide on your groupings and designate one LAC
Facilatator and one LAC Leader .

3. Note the following in forming your LAC’s :

 LAC’s should composed be teachers. Discuss your prepared LAC


composition with your assigned Instructional Coach ( it should be a
district or division supervisor assigned to the said LAC)
 After forming your respective LACs, there should be a LAC Leader
assigned to you among the following school members:
Master Teacher
Head Teacher/ Department Head
Other Senior teacher who have proven competence, potential to lead, or
subject expertice to lead the LAC

Teacher LAC’s can connect with their Instructional Coach through the LAC
Leader . The Instructional Coach will be handling multiple LAC’s through
the network of LAC Leaders
